Playing this on-line with my mate over the PS3.

So far it's been pretty forgettable and boring. Doing random quests of collecting X amount of this, go over there to kill some guy etc.. Enemies taking whole clips to die even though they're supposedly our level (16), seemingly re-spawning enemies after an area has already been cleared and travelling back and forth is reminding me a lot of Far Cry 2 which is an utter piece of ****. I'm trying to like this game but so far what i've got from it is;

1) You're searching for some Vault. A look-a-like of Cortana from Halo pops up on the screen now and again to tell you some uninteresting things.

2) Constantly re-spawning enemies, loads of traveling back and forth and forgettable missions.

I know i'm late to the party on this one, I bought it as the reviews I watched were amazing but it's really starting to remind me of Far Cry 2.

Please tell me what i'm doing wrong. :(

Nothing wrong with not enjoying a game, put it down and move on.

For me it's one of the better games I've played in quite a while, but you're probably far enough into it that whatever magic I saw in the game simply isn't there for you.

I know people rave about it but i just couldnt get in to it at all. Everything you posted in op sums up my problems. I love story driven games and this story is basically "go shoot these dudes with some guns"

borderlands is my fav game of all time, never put as many hours in to a game as I have with that!

The RPG to shooter mix is perfect, and looting is so satisfying in the game.

But it's not to everyone's taste of course, I was hooked from the get go!

One of the best games ive played in the last few years.

For my mates and myself, it was all about cheating and farming the Armory over and over again! Good fun!

I thought it was an absolutely fantastic game but I can very easily understand why people don't like it. At its core it is a simple grind-and-loot game.

thing is the loot was dodgy i think to begin with. i think they patched it after a few dlc's were released.
at the time we just ran through the game on co-op and really its a forgettable game for me as well. havent touched it since completing it once either.

Thought it was just me as people and reviewers seemed to rave about it. Will give it another go and see how it pans out. I've always got Deus Ex to fall back on anyway.

If you don't feel that surge of excitement when all the little coloured loot flies into the air after killing a baddie, then it's not for you. I practically have an orgasm if something orange appears. :D

Or the excitement of a red chest, that reveals a rare (orange) Maliwan Combustion HellFire SMG ready to take some bandit scum down!

I really enjoyed it, you seem to have stuck to it and simply don't like it.

Fair play for giving it a shot mate!

I think it matters which class you choose. Not so much for their talent trees, but for their unique class ability.

IMO, Mordecai's was the best. Especially when it was still bugged, you could look at the floor and spam your talent key. Look up and then have 20 hawks zerging everything for you.
