Like the Diablo thing. Massive loot drops from mobs, mass mobs, small player groups (4 with Borderlands).
The games are about killing lots of stuff and getting better loot. Its a loot game.
Nope... Certainly not until after general release...do we know of any demo release or info ?

30min vid from these guys, over all fairly positive and give a good show of how the coop works.
So when is this released? Phoned highstreet chain today and they confirmed this friday.
two well known online sites have it for the 23rd and the Jersey one has it for the 30th.
Steam has it for the 30th, so I am inclined to believe the 30th.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first installment of downloadable content for Borderlands. The content will include new quests, items, and enemies, and will be made available sometime before the end of 2009.[12] The storyline takes place in an area known as Jakobs Cove. Dr. Ned had been in charge of keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, but ended up transforming them into abominations. The player will assist Dr. Ned in trying to cure the victims of his work.[13]
Today 2K Games announced the first in a series of downloadable content packs for upcoming FPS/RPG hybrid Borderlands.
"The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" will be available later this year for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The expansion will cost players $9.99, or 800 Microsoft Points.
Dr. Ned (who is not related to another of the game's characters, Dr. Zed from Fyrestone) is in charge of keeping the workers of Jakob's Cove alive. He does so by horribly violating the Hippocratic oath, creating zombies and other no-no's of nature. You'll need to fight alongside Dr. Ned as you try to cure some of these "patients" in this full-on expansion pack ripe with new enemies, new weapons, and rare loot drops.
Borderlands features mad co-op that blurs the line between the single-player and multi-player experiences. Join or leave anyone's game at any time or keep cool as a lone wolf in the single-player world. Customizable weapons offer "87 bazillion" different ways to cause cool-looking pain. Pick up Borderlands on Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 20th in North America and October 23rd internationally. The PC version ships on October 26th in North America and October 30th worldwide.
Now please enjoy these Zombie Island screenshots:
That zombie island looks good (a different style than what ive saw of the core game) but I just hate it when they not only announce but also show off DLC before the game is actually released grr
Anyone know what sort of length in hours, the main game is going to be roughly? And that DLC looks cool, hope there's more on the way.
