Borderlands

played bout an hr of the beginning of the game with a mate on the 360, seemed pretty shabby just shooting scrags all the time, whats the appeal and hype with this game?!

I wouldn't advise making any judgements on the first few hours of the game, hell even most of the first playthrough tbh. The pacing is screwed up big time. 1 moment at the start its ok, then it can turn extremely hard, then if you manage the hard part you've overlevelled that much the next 70% of the game is a cakewalk. Playthrough 2 is where it gets interesting, assuming you have enough patience left with the extremely excessive amount of useless weapon drops.

Its an enjoyable game but it really doesn't have much to offer imo...

Wow, did you just hang around Fyrestone for an hour as any progress with quests should have lead to you confronting non-skag enemies!

Love this games concept. It was great playing through on co-op with my mate, tempted to try out the DLC for it...

dunno maybe I just have no patience anymore for games where i have to think:D
just compared to resistance where you can dive straight in co-op and have some fun
Borderlands wasn't fun, isn't that why we play games?
came across this boss scrag, the only way we could beat it was to respawn over and over again then resorting to melee to kill it
took 15 mins, was rubbish

Problem is it needs more variation - armour sets, maybe, or other customisations. Just having one ability isn't enough either, could do with having different abilities depending on the spec, for example.

Concept is great, an "FPS Diablo" but imagine having Diablo but only with weapon drops and a single piece of armour...you'd be pretty dissapointed...

Bit of a bump but I had to vent!

Just finished playing through pt1 with a mate. Brilliant game right up until the last boss..W T F?! epic fail... And whats with the rubbish level scaling? overleveled by 1-2 levels and everything is really easy and we still have Island of Dr Ned + General Noxx to run through before starting on PT2. Will we be ridiculously overpowered or will enemies be a lot harder?
Feels like we're just playing for the loot now which reminds me of why I quit WoW :/

After finishing off the final boss yo uneed to select start game again and select playthrough 2. And yes, the enemies get a lot harder on playthrough 2 and 2.5.

I realise enemies are harder on PT2/2.5 but if we are 2-3 levels above them and all missions are marked 'trivial' it'll be too easy

coop soldier is 35 (finished PT1, not started dr ned or noxx) and solo sniper is 37 (couple of missions into dr ned)

Knoxx is made for people around that level so shouldnt be as easy as the normal game.

Im level 47 on my Mordecai hes my highest, ive yet to run through Knoxx yet.

Hard to find people hosting a game for the dlc though and i cant host myself.

What are the chances of me liking this game, considering i didn't like Fallout 3 and couldn't get into Fallout 3?

Agreed with npj, I hated Fallout 3. Most dire piece of tripe going at the time. Borderlands has great atmosphere, great music, great gameplay, great baddies and lots of useful looting... until the end. Then you'll be disappointed. Hehehe. :D
