Ive been looking at getting a new cordless drill but not at silly price but there appear to be Dewalt and Bosch professional at reasonable prices but which is the better make?

Neither..............................go have a look at Makita. Will certainly outlast anything DeWalt make and are just better built than almost anything made by Bosch.

Is it still the case that DeWalt is actually Erbauer internals in a yellow casing at a massive markup?

Just save the money and get the bosh. Really won't notice any difference. I've got a few Makita tools and a bosh grinder. Tbh there's not much in it. All are well made.

Not really no. DeWalt took over Black and Decker..............who a few years earlier took over Elu.
DeWalt's Entire cordless range and some of it's powered range is a direct result Elu's development in the 1980's.

If Elu still existed it would very interesting to see what could be available now.

EDIT: Either way, Makita was always better than Elu...........................and still knocks everyone else sideways.

I bought a drill from Argos for £15.

It makes holes. Said holes work as intended. Why spend £150 on the same appliance unless you're a professional (in which case, you probably don't need advice)

Why pay more?

How round are your holes.

If you want to make another hole in a years time - how confident are you that your drill will oblige?

What if I AM a professional? In what way could the holes drilled by your bargain machine be considered 'Unprofessional'?

Please excuse me whilst I re-evaluate my life...
