right i fort my gpu has been holding my new rig back and looks like it is

was playing black ops 2 online this morning and i fort i would load up msi afterburner see what if it was getting bottled and looks like it is
after i had been in game for around 25mins

my gpu was running at 99% and my cpu only 35%

gpu.jpg

my full spec is

asrock 960gm-gs3
fx-8150 8 core cpu running at 4.4ghz ( tryed putting it back at 3.6ghz but still getting the same gpu getting used 99% why in game )
msi r7750 power edition 1gd ddr 5
8gb corsair vengeance ram
128gb sandisk sata 3 ssd
2x 500gb sata 2 seagate hard drives
600w corsair builder psu

Spelling and grammar corrected!!

What makes you think it's being a bottleneck? Games are more GPU intensive than CPU intensive!

i'm going with this,
Black ops 2 is badly coded.
CPU is at 35% which would be 2 cores & max (12.5% + background activity)
so 12.5% x2 = 25% of the CPU rest being background operations.

so in turn CPU Coding it holding you up not the GPU.

Try a real stressful game and come back?
maybe Skyrim
Heaven Benchmark
Somthing that can stress both CPU/GPU to nearly all cores.
maybe crysis, pushes all cores (not many games use 8 cores)

thanks snips86x my spelling is bad i know :(

i have tryed on max setting and on on 1440x 900 resolurion and min settings on 800x600 and still get the same fps of 90fps and still on 90fps when doing a video on fraps

have tryed minecraft and it just sits at 100fps on min or max settings

same as left 4 dead 1 and 2 it just sits on 140fps

try above

from memory l4d2 uses 2 cores, could you try somthing that uses 4+ and post back

this will show if you cpu % goes up above 35% whenplaying those games

if it doesnt most likely gpu bootleneck, if not cpu is fine & just bad coding

my frame rate is black ops 2 is 90fps spot on no ups or down and here is that Heaven Benchmark screen shot

Has anybody read the title?
It is about the GPU
He has a HD7750 he should be happy the game runs on max settings on that card
EDIT:I got a HD5850 and at the end of the game were textures are as high as they will ever be(wrong game i am talking about black ops the line)
70-90FPS and at the beginning of the game 100-120FPS
And my CPU can hardly hold his pants us
That GPU is entry level for low settings experience
Get a HD7850 to be in ballance with your CPU

Hi again, in BLKOPS 2 you can set your frame rate in the options something like 60>90>125>unlimited FPS + sync frame rate. Check to see what yours is set at, mine is set at 125 + sync frame rate-NO and also BLKOPS 2 look for search preference[bottom right of screen] when set to best looks for better servers with a high ping for you, helps keep the dreaded lag down.

i got it set for unlimited and still the same :/

You are still not getting it?
It is a HD7750 not a serious gaming GPU
That is an entry level mid gaming card
And of course that is your bottleneck for gaming experience
The 90FPS limit can be from the game engine or from CPU but that is impossible because GPU is at 99% that is the culprit
If you had 70% GPU usage that will be a different story

And it is not stuck at 90 wen you are killed it drops to 82 and it was constant 60 in one point
So stop the trolling and read the replies

yep thats all i was asking that if it was my gpu holding me back
as if it was im looking at ordering a new video card well hoping to get a good high end card for around £300 as i only got the 7750 as where i just payed out for everything to build up my rig

That CPU can balance a HD7870 in gaming performance
Overclock CPU will pare up with a reference HD7950
Anything better and you will be CPU limited and a lot

thanks thats all i wanted to know and i did have my cpu overclocked running at 4.4ghz but in the end i underclocked from the stock 3.6ghz to 3.4ghz it just to get some better fps as where the gpu was trying hard to keep up

think i will be ordering the msi hd 7870 twin frozr oc 2gb on tuesday :)
