Has anyone got anything to say about their beers other than whether or not it's a body part?

I drank mine the other night (Bells Two Hearted Ale). It's really rather good. 7.0% but wasn't strong tasting like most beers in that range. It was a bit more expensive than the usual beers (~$16 instead of ~$10 for a 6 pack). I'd say it's similar to the Sierra Nevada Torpedo, maybe a bit nicer to drink.

Could somebody once and for all, explain to me how this all works? I've watched from a distance since I signed up but I don't get it... :p

Each week has a theme, you buy a beer to meet the theme, points are awarded for the uniqueness of your entry, then a massive argument happens when someone gets 0. Simple.

My beer was very good. Would have it again.

I'm suprised the Two Hearted was that much! It's usually my go to beer when I'm in the states and usually around $10 a pack, even in Cali. I found a bar in Michigan that had Two Hearted for $2 a glass (20oz)

Find some Founders Centennial if you like the Two Hearted, similar but nicer I think. Also from Michigan.

:D:D

Tangle Foot. Available everywhere and not overly interesting. I would be okay with buying a few cans and drinking them now and again (I prefer the darker beers).

Can't believe we're still talking about this. My first time doing this granted, but I assumed it was a bit of fun and an excuse to get drunk on a Sunday night with a few weird beers I've never tried before!

Hmm, I wonder why it was so expensive then?

I'll keep an eye out for the Founders Centennial, thanks for the tip!

I'll sort a poll tomorrow and the IPA round is suspended until next week.

As for the beer, I enjoyed it and would happily drink it again.

Why is it suspended? What have I missed?

My Laughing Skull was a little sweet, and tasted stronger than it's reported 5.3%. Quite cloudy, brown colour, little head but quite a bit of gas.

Mine was horrendous - Skull Splitter, over 11%. I got carried away looking for something unique rather than a beer I might like, and ended up with neither!

Not too sure, I know some states have very strange import/export laws when it comes to beer. Maybe they have a higher mark up when coming from certain states?

It's like Colorado don't ship beers to surrounding states, so if you want it you have to go to Colorado. But in UK we have most of the beers from many of the big craft beer breweries in Colorado.

It's a weird one.

I think it's down to how distribution works in the US.
Bars/Pubs/Supermarkets are tied down to individual distributors and supply chains, if you can't get into a particular supply chain, you can't get your product almost anywhere.

We're quite good in the UK in that we have so many independent bottle-shops/free houses that you can roll up to almost any bottle shop and get a wide range of brewery choices.
