I counted my post, yes. I too am a player.

The 6 people that agreed with my summary are:

Myself (obviously)
The_Abyss
Anchundan
Gilly
Bickaxe
timmeh (originally was against but changed his mind after the point made by Gilly)

The two against:

Feek
Ahleckz

I also agree with DJ.

Having said that, I think a poll would be fare like we did with 'Noir'.

Well after my post here, we've had some replies. The majority of which are in favour of my summarizing final post.

With there being a majority, no poll is required.

Unless there is anything new to add, I shall update the leaderboard asap?

So the seabiscuits don't count?

And you're ignoring the Thrappledouser issue.

Forget it DJ, it's clearly not worth me pushing any more. I strongly disagree with this one but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm just disappointed it hasn't gone to the vote.

Read the quote above yours, click on the link and you will see there aren't any votes / comments from either seabiscuit.

But in the interest of fairness, I request each player to post within the thread if either they agree (with my summary) or not. If there isn't a clear majority then you shall have your vote.

I agreed with the first summary with the exception of thrappledouser, then I agreed with the second one (i think), then it seemed that the slang and swearies were allowed which I don't agree with - which is the definitive summary that we are supposed to agree with?

I'll stick with judges decision is final. I have reservations about some decisions though and it will keep cropping up if you allow it now.

I fully intend to take advantage of the final result of this round, especially if we are allowing foreign, slang and colloquialisms.
What's German for light?

None of that is being allowed

surely **** is a slang term? I think it opens up every round now to slang terms and who decides where the line is?
should have entered my thruppenny bit ale for this round...

Sorry, daft as it is, I've had to edit that word - Gilly

haha!!

Ah, yes, well I agree with you on that score. I thought you were disagreeing with the feek decision :) I think slang is a very contentious one, will carry a load of work and will open up more issues further down the line.

More to the point, I don't agree that Sonea's is slang at all. It's in the English dictionary as a body part. The only mention of **** is a chicken, a valve, vulgar slang, something to tell the pattern of the wind, and a chief person.

In actual fact, to run through my opinion:

Sonea - 5 points
feek - 0 points
Ahleckz - 0 points
maccy - 0 points
kuros - 0 points

**** is in the dictionary as slang/vulgar for penis.

thruppenny bit isn't.

but "thruppeny bit" is a well known slang term for a body part - are we going with words that appear in the dictionary as the rule?

What is well known to one person doesn't mean it applies to all.

As for adding or changing rules mid competition, I wouldn't be in favour of it.

I would much rather we all discuss it and agree.

if you allow slang and don't define what is allowable then you have to allow slang, it doesn't matter if it's well known or not.

If you allow things that appear in the dictionary as commonly used then it has repercussions on previous 0 pointers.

If you can't actually name your beer within the forum rules then I also don't see how that is permissible - with exception of the round where this is specifically allowed in the rules

I agree with Gilly's scoring of the round

Does it, in which instances?

This was my initial reaction too.

I agree with Gilly's scoring of the round
On this basis then we now have 3 people requesting a poll.

well, if appearing in the dictionary is the criteria "noir" should count as it's a common use word for black - I don't agree with it but you can't allow one because it's in the dictionary and then say another doesn't count if it's in the dictionary...

surely 4? Gilly's scoring is different to yours so he disagrees too...

if you are allowing slang words it needs to clarified what is acceptable and what is not and where the line is/what it is judged against - imo it's all or nothing
