In seriousness, you had to blank out the word that you were actually entering with...

The forum filters that word automatically, even though it's a famous Burns poem.

Edit: oh, you mean the photo. I can only see thumbnail photos for some reason, I didn't notice!

So...

Ahleckz, slang, swearing. In hindsight, as mentioned above it was I that carried out the image edit. To remove the male chicken term, maybe his entry (no pun) was actually beaver?! I personally feel (no pun again) I may have come down hard on Ahleckz. I also had a possible entry with similar name. **** of the walk! I decided to keep it for X round (not now obviously). So the judge had a similar idea.

Therefore I feel, Ahleckz should get 5 points. More on slang later.

Feek, swearing and word broken down. Let's discount the swearing and just look at the word and it is all one word. We have already had it highlighted that 'coldfeet' as an example would be a valid entry, cold feet. Feet, yes.

So ****faced breaks down to, **** faced. Faced isn't a body part and therefore not a valid entry. So 0 points would remain.

Kuros, beard. I stand by this as more a feature than body part. So 0 points would remain.

Maccy, it's a brewery not a name. Clear cut.

Sinea_Fifer, slang for throat. Well if Ahleckz gets it then this has too. Previously entered before and allowed. Therefore 5 points.

Please feel free to comment.

On that basis, agreed.

Agree with all (apart from mine, obviously) except the last one. Whether Thrapple is slang or not, it's a foreign word and it's already been explicitly stated that foreign words are not allowed. "Noir" was disallowed in a previous round.

I just want consistency.

It's not a foreign word, unless you think shampoo also is? Shampoo is Indian. It might have foreign derivatives but it's in the English dictionary.

"Ever wondered where we got the name Thrappledouser from? It was very simple really. We took the Scots’ word for throat and wove it with a term for slaking or dousing your thirst. I suppose a straight translation into English would be thirst quencher."

Not sure what else I can say really.

If we really want to go down the road of 'foreign' languages. Noir is French, Thrapple is Scottish. This is OcUK, U.K. United Kingdom. Which consists of England, Wales, N.Ireland and Scotland.

Sonea_Fifer has been player (and past winner) of this competition from it's start. I will be the first to say, that doesn't allow him any special treatment over any other player. That said, you mention consistency and if it's been allowed before then surely in the interests of consistency it should be again?

There isn't anything else to say. You could lift noir from the French language but it's commonly used in English too. It was discounted in an early round of botw because the English usage is not a colour.

Thrapple is a scots word. It's also in the English dictionary and has retained the meaning. Shampoo is an Indian word, also part of the English language.

I don't mind arguing semantics. We can continue if you wish! Taking the description from a brewery site about the English language, and not the dictionary itself, isn't going to help though.

I think if I get points for Two Hearted then Feek should get points for **** faced unless I'm missing something.

I hadn't noticed that. Hearted is on a par with faced, isn't it? Either allow both or neither but don't allow one and disallow the other.

There are very compelling arguments on both sides :)

You're missing something. Two hearted refers to having two body parts. The other refers to being inebriated.
