what games have i missed out on in the years since i gave my son my old one? i have still got my old games and just to let you know how long it is since i have been on it they are the likes of Dead Rising, Fight Night 3 and Pro Evo 6 lol

Im not into fps on consoles as i cant control them very well with a pad, and most cross platform games i have on PS3. Does Live do anything like PSN+ as i find a lot of the games to be quite expensive for how long i play the games that i own, i've tried looking myself but cant seem to find anything on this so i'm guessing not.

Ive picked up a copy of Alan Wake as i seemed to remember a lot of hype running up to its release. Got to the lighthouse so far and enjoying it as i learn the controls etc.

many thanks

I've just had one too. so far I've bought Alan Wake £11.49, Forza 3 Ultimate edition for £11.98 (which I thought was a bargain but have since found a site selling it for £6.99:eek: A play and charge kit for £9.91. I almost cancelled this and ordered a 2nd controller with play and charge for £31.

hmm just taken a quick look at fable 2 might be a purchase of that later. i don't really mind how old the games are as long as they are good etc. Forza 3 i already have for some unknown reason (well the play disk lol god knows where its come from)

XBLA seems really expensive after the quick glance i gave it yesterday which is why i was asking over xbla psn+ type thing. its saved me loads on my ps3 on games i wouldn't enjoy but opened my eyes to games i wouldn't have tried and liked. currently playing through stacking on ps3 which i wouldn't have looked twice at

Get some rechargeable batteries that hold their charge(sanyo eneloop,gp recyko) and a quick charger, they last much longer than the play and charge kits.

I've already got it now so I'll see how it goes. From reading forums it seems that MS updated them 6-12 months ago and the newer ones are meant to be better. The official spiel pasted into adverts says "first charge takes upto 6 hours. Playtime upto 25 hours". Mine took 8 hours to charge and the booklet says they last upto 35 hours. I've only used it a few times so far and it's still on full. Thought it was worth a try for £9.91.

My play and charge lasts ages, also I think XBL is worth the money over normal PSN, but I love the fact PSN+ members get free stuff, and betas

Right i've been out and come home with Pure/Lego Batman combo pack thing and Top Spin 3. should keep me happy for a few hours and they were going cheap. couldn't find fable 2 for anything approaching a reasonable price but will keep my eye out for it.

thanks for the tip regarding play n' charge kit as that was going to be among my next purchase.

for me the best xbox games are,
Forza 3 and get an MS wheel if you can find one.
Fable 2 (game of the year edition)
Fifa 10, or 11.
Mass Effect 1 (takes awile to get into though)
Pinball FX 2 (in the Live Arcade thingy)

a rather large music shops' webiste has the double pack Fable 2 + Halo 3 for £12.99. It's not GOTY edition though and I doubt they each have their own case.

I'm pretty sure I went into his masters voice and saw those two I'm sure they both had their own case and the classics edition usually includes both dlcs.

only prob with that pack is halo. not knocking it for what it is but i aint into fps on consoles. fallout3 i have on pc and ps3.

can you believe the top spin 3 disk cant be read due to scratches lol.

XBLA,

Limbo, Super Meat Boy and Braid if you didn't purchase it from the Playstion store, also Hydro Thunder is fantastic if you like fun arcady racing games.

Retail,

Burnout Revenge, an old game now that most people seem to have forgotten about but still one of the best arcade racers then gen.

Condemned, played from a first person perspective but it's not a typical FPS, a thriller/horror game, one of the scariest games I've played this gen.

Kameo, another old game but great fun, a colourful third person action game made by RARE, love the art direction of this game and still holds up graphically plus it has an amazing score.
