Bought a V8 M3. Filled with excitement, and then immediate regret.

haha true, I just moved back in with mum and dad at the age of 33, its been a week and I am already plotting to move out lol

I'm waiting for our house sale to complete and there is a slight possibility we might have to move in with them for a month or so. I am doing everything in my power for this not to happen  That said, living with parents makes fast car ownership so much easier.

Lol yes it does but driving a nice car does not make it worth living with my mum.

Looks fantastic! Not great to hear about finding one with that spec as if I am going to get one that is the same spec I would look for. :(

How much have you spent in fuel so far :D

Thanks! I'm not bothering to count fuel spend, it's going to be quite a lot and I just want to drive it without thinking about it. The moment you start worrying about how much it costs then that's when you start to not enjoy it.

I'm 20 and out of interest (and inevitable lolz) tried an m3 on go compare...

8 grand.

Insurance was ~£700. I couldn't get a quote with any mainstream company before I turned 21 and all the little ones quoted me around the same as you, however as soon as I turned 21 then Admiral were more than happy to quote me at a reasonable cost :)

Cracking.
My only criticism, not sure about the black wheels - I think it might look better balanced with silver. But then, they do match the roof.

A very minor criticism though. And props for choosing an actual colour :)

Thanks :) The black/silver debate will go on in my head for a long time and I'm not looking forward to the day I refurb the wheels and have to make a decision, but in the mean time I'm really enjoying how easy the black ones are to clean!

I don't normally like red cars, but that looks awesome! :)

You still coming RR day?

Last thing, when you lost it, was DSC on, or were you in MDM or off?

Again, thanks :) Yes will definitely be at the RR day. Lost it with it in MDM, I had had it fully off earlier in the day so I could have the shifts set in S6, however I realized this was a very silly thing to be doing so tamed it a bit. MDM was still clearly the wrong choice considering the weather and my experience with the car, looking back I really don't know why I had it in that mode.

It is easy if you still live with mum and dad ;).

Yes, living with parents makes things a lot easier financially ;) :p

Still quite easy to lose them even fully on if you try to do defy laws of physics or going to fast or to much throttle in poor conditions. M3's are very tail happy but normally progressive and controllable.

You live and learn but I'd advice DSC on and very smooth throttle and steering inputs in cold and wet conditions. Go and be a yob on track so when it all of a sudden breaks away you know what to expect. :)

But yes, Sport. S6 and DSC off is a wonderful thing. :D

Track day and some tuition will be happening, I want to be a yob in it but only in the correct situation (off of the public highway) :)

Nice car - Love the red.

But clean the exhaust!!! They should be shiny :(

How much are you paying per month on that for insurance at 20?

Thanks! Exhausts are meant to be black, it's not just me being lazy and not cleaning them :p As said above I pay insurance annually and I'm 21 not 20, it's £700ish per year.

It looks a bit alright doesn't it :p I'm not a fan of black wheels I will admit, but the competition pack does make it look somewhat meaner than a standard E92 M3.

Agreed. Went into BMW yesterday and they had an E92 M3 in Santorini Blue sat outside (my dream colour) that also had black wheels, but it wasn't a competition pack so they were just the normal 19s. Completely ruined the look of the car imo.

I'm just not sure at all about the interior it just doesn't do it for me feels plain and bland especially for a 30k motor

I'll agree on feeling bland and I'm very aware I could have gone out and bought a 320D and get the exact same interior, however who buys an M3 for interior quality? It's got a modern navigation unit, decent stereo and comfortable seats. What more would you want from a car that's meant to be ragged around?
