Bought a V8 M3. Filled with excitement, and then immediate regret.

It's more than just a car that gets ragged around though and doing so didn't put you on the greatest start to begin with :p

it's widely considered the interior is one of the downsides of the car otherwise great car but none of the M3 following the E46 have excited me in anyway whatsoever the money you spend expect just that little bit more

If anyone knows Southampton Mercedes and its proximity to the motorway. I nearly binned my SLK55AMG joining that motorway, Less than a minute after leaving the dealer.

It stopped raining about an hour before. I booted it from the slip road through lane 1 and into lane 2. Would have looked epic as I was going very sideways at the time. Luckily the clever electronics made up for my lack of rear wheel drive and 360bhp experience.

The Mrs said did you do that on purpose.

Yeah of course....................................phew

Ouch, yeah I live quite close to the dealership. Picked up a BMW M135i 2 weeks ago and discovered rain+rear wheel drive+320bhp=tail happy :D

I saw you driving down Hurst Road in Sidcup on Wednesday I think? Judging by your location I am probably right! Nice car.

Yeap that would be me! Live just off of Hurst Road. Are you a local?

Glad it's not just me that manages to be a prat so early into ownership :D

take the wheels to lepsoms and have them done shadow chrome.

Will look gorgeous and you get the best of both worlds silver and black, heres my old rs4 with them done.

Also awesome car and fair play for admitting you binned it on day one.

Used Lepsons before on my E46 and have to admit I'm not sure about their work. Initially the finish was fantastic, but over time it started to become quite dull and I noticed intricate spots that they had actually missed with the paint!

Shadow Chrome is an option, but the voice inside my head tells me that the OEM colours were black or silver so it will look wrong lol.

As a side note this thread has made me realize I've covered 3k miles in 3 months, that's much more than I had anticipated.

I'm starting to feel the same way about Lepsons - they always look great but their finish is extremely soft and easy to damage compared to the factory finish. Next time I need a refurb I think I'll be using Rimtec in Gravesend - I've heard good things about them and they're a lot cheaper.

Shall take a look at both places when it comes to refurb time, hopefully I won't need them too soon :p I've had somewhere down in Tonbridge Wells recommended which is apparently where Bentley send all of their second hand stock, however the name escapes me at the moment.
