Bought CSS off steam

Currently downloading CSS from steam, and have a couple of questions.

1. How do i activate the game? (it says i will need a CD key which i dont seem to have yet)

2. Is there anyway of backing up the game onto DVD?

3. Final Question. What mods if any should i be looking for to download?

1.Since you bought the game off steam, Counter Striker will be registered onto your account, so there is no need for a serial, so if you format you computer. Simply log in to your account and download the game again.

2. You can backup you files if you open steam up, go into the games section and then right click Counter Strike Source, then select Backup game files...

3. A good modification site i found if your looking for skins, for your weapons players even tatoos i found FPS bananna to be a great site, there is no sign up required either. But if you looking for map modifications there is a ton of servers on steam when you run the game surfing maps, zombie maps etc which will download automatically when you join the server. And then if u wan tto get some practice in and not play online you can click create server and play with some bots on that map you just downloaded

I think it will be a good idea for me to get some bot killing practice in before i join a real server

look for servers with beginner in the title. like Uk2 beginner server if they are still around.

just got CS:s myself so Ill be on that server sometime tonight probably

any other good css servers around ?
Not looking for the UK2 level of play, not played CS for 2 years but used to be decent. First time playing CSS though so no idea of servers!

Try our gungame. Hackers are banned prettty much as soon as we find them. Link is in sig to clan site. V V popular server (35th in the UK i think).

wouldnt recommend playing against bots really, just dive straight in to an online server, Id also avoid a uk2 beginner server, you dont want the kiddy/idiot attitudes to rub off on you, and you'll pick up incredibly rubbish habbits, play on an active clan server..

came on before but for some reason I cant run the game full screen under crossover, only windowed and it looks funny like that, going to install it on windows and play tomorrow sometime!

is there any ftp/http source to get source from ? through steam is stupidly slow :/

You dont need to download some mods with CSS. When you join a server it automatically downloads the relevent parts. Such as GunGame mod, and Zombie mod.
