Bought Discs from ECP but...

One of my best mates at uni's dad was the chairman of blueprint until they sold the company to Febi Bilstein a couple of years ago.

Nothing wrong with them, they make a lot of oe spec parts, but as said that doesn't really matter if its not what you ordered!

That would an all I need to hear

I absolutely hate Febi. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole

I've had good experiences with the suspension stuff, Lemforder aswell.

Pads and discs are Ferrodo and Brembo for me.

Sensors are Pierberg or Denso.

Batteries & Wipers are Bosch

Febi parts have a nasty habit of lasting about a year. the guys i know on the clubgti board used to see febi as a good brand but then one by one we had all ended up doing jobs twice in a year due to new febi parts failing. bushes, top mounts, track rod bits, even a friggin stat malfunctioning after a year, when it was replaced with a new VW item it turns out the febi one was the wrong temp anyway

I have just had the rear discs and pads done on my car and I was actually told to avoid ECP for pads and discs by the VW/Audi specialist that was going to/has now fitted them for this very reason (they were just fitting them for their cash rate, i supplied the parts so they didnt have any reason to fob me off.)

I ended up buying genuine VW discs and pads from Skodaparts instead. £20 more than ECP and it is probably £20 down the toilet for no reason but who knows :p. All fitted now anyway.

To be honest I fitted Mtec discs to the front of my V6 Alfa. They were only £50 despite being drilled and grooved. I have read some good things about them so I am going to see how well they last. I am not expecting miracles but I wasn't going to pay a fortune as I only use the car now and again. For pads I went for Brembo which were only £35. It has majorly improved the brakes which are not brilliant at best.

£85 isn't bad for a front brake set up I felt. Lets hope they don't crack or fly apart lol.

OEM VW ones have been great, after 30k my rears still look new.

Other than that i usually use EBC, i like the products and i want to support a british manufacturer.

there is some positive information about them on Google, but thats not the point.

you pay the premium for pagid because you know itll be good. what do you konw about blueprint adl??

they wouldnt be going on a my cars

So you've found positive reviews, yet wouldn't fit them?

lolmatt82logic

what? you think anyone would pay pagid brakes money, receive no-brand brakes and be perfectly happy fitting them because a few people on the net said they were OK?

a fool and their money...

You are giving me cancer,

ADL is not a no brand! It is a major brand for aftermarket parts !

Give me ADL anyday, on the basis that ECP were caught selling fake Pagid stuff anyway!

Ive been faffing around with car stuff for a long time, ive not come across that brand once, and google has hardly any information about them either, so no, i still wouldnt buy them or pay a premium for them, even if you did get cancer from it

Does everyone on this forum run a formula 1 car or something?? By Christ some of the comments on here are daft..

Im not buying that tosh. If you've never come across Blueprint then you clearly have't been faffing long enough.

Unless faffing consists of just going to ECP to buy some Brake discs.
