Bought myself a triple....

I really like the look of those. I think I may be a tad too tall for one though at 6'4":(

I'm about the same height as you (6' 3") and sat on a street triple R, it felt ok for me. The R has a higher seat height than the standard version.

I'm riding an er6n at the moment on my DAS and although it's maybe a tad too small it's plenty comfy.

You'll be fine :)

Bacon, As Winter is approaching I'm thinking of getting my Street Triple treated by All Year Biker.
The nearest operator is in Wells but he will come to Bristol if we can get 2 bikes for him to do on the same day.

Let me know if you're interested in getting your bike Winter-proofed.

Hey, noticed you mentioned the same thing on the street forum.

I appreciate the offer but I will be doing the usual acf50'ing this winter, I don't commute on my bikes these days so a full weather proofing shouldn't be necessary. A good coat of acf should be enough, for the odd decent day we get over winter at least!

Had my Street Triple R nearly 4 months now, absolutely love it, even the Arrow can! :p

I can't bring myself to get rid of my GSX-R 1000, but I enjoy riding the Street more, just so much more usable on the road.

I had a practically new ZX6R which was my weekend toy. I bought a Street Triple for a cheaper commuter but it's so good that I ended up selling the ZX as it never got used. The Street Triple really does it all, it's comfy for the commute but can also hold its own on track.
At this rate my next bike will probably be another Street Triple as I can't think of anything that could top it.

That's where I am at the moment. I think I spoilt myself by making it my first bike!

I need another bike for touring Europe 2 up though.

Reading the reviews in this thread I have started to wonder if I should get a triple instead of an SV (when I eventually have the cash to buy a bike). Might see if I can talk a dealer into letting me take one out.....Or do they get funny about people that have just got their licence taking bikes out?

I've had an SV and a Street Triple and there's no competition, the Street Triple is better in every single way, even for a new rider.

Not sure about your local dealer, mine requires you to have a license for 2 years before they'll let you ride a bigger bike.

If the cost isn't an issue I would have to say Street Triple over an SV every time.

That's another reason I moved to Adventure/Touring type bikes, whilst you can do all that on a Street Triple, or any bike for that matter, my Tiger 800 does everything better as a whole for me.

If space and money were no object then, even though I do feel I'm too tall for a Street Triple, I'd have one for a localish runaround.

My local Triumph dealer (Ashford Triumph) are fine with me having a test ride having just passed my test, so it's down to each dealer.

I currently own both. They're both great, the triple is just better.

I'll be getting a second bike for touring as I'd hate to have an adventure style bike as my everyday bike. I'll probably get an older sports bike for touring, as they're very comfy even for long journeys, but still a ton of fun.

I had a Speed3 before a kindly old lady did a U-Turn on me - SPLAT!

Best bike ever and will definately not think twice about buying another one when I am "expendable" again - at least if it wasn't for the Street3...

The Street is just fantastic in every way. I rode one for a week or so while some work was being carried out on the Speed and absolutely loved it. Almost regretted getting back on the Speed - at least until I got on the Motorway....

any news on your sv kreee? you using the er6 atm? whats it like?

Not yet, they have collected it but still not got around to inspecting it.

The ER6N is a steaming turd compared to the SV. The handling, brakes, engine characteristics, looks, throttle response and dial clarity are all well below the SV.

It's also a fat bugger and much harder to filter with.
