Bought myself a triple....

Not yet, they have collected it but still not got around to inspecting it.

The ER6N is a steaming turd compared to the SV. The handling, brakes, engine characteristics, looks, throttle response and dial clarity are all well below the SV.

It's also a fat bugger and much harder to filter with.

Did my DAS on an ER6N and I wouldn't buy one personally - the dials are crap (although they're improved in the latest version), mirrors were useless avove 30mph as it was very very buzzy at anything over 3-4k rpm. Had a numb arse after 90 minutes riding too.

In general though, just not very special, power seemed good as they have 70bhp but it was a but dull. Very easy to ride though, which was a plus, never felt like it had 70bhp, apart from when I nailed it in 3rd from 15mph of course:eek::D

I currently own both. They're both great, the triple is just better.

I'll be getting a second bike for touring as I'd hate to have an adventure style bike as my everyday bike. I'll probably get an older sports bike for touring, as they're very comfy even for long journeys, but still a ton of fun.

Old sports bikes can make comfy tourers (ZX9R springs to mind) but not great 2 up. Blackbird would be a good choice.

This is the reason I switched to and adventure bike too. I only have space for a single bike and the GS does it all, from commuting to Sunday blasts (in sports mode with the suspension hardened up) and then 2up touring around Europe.

If I had unlimited space I'd have a Street in the garage though....and a Ducati 899 and a Triumph Scrambler

It's funny you say blackbird, as that's what my girlfriend's mother and brother have, and I was thinking if making it a hat trick with a third xx.
