Bouncers in Leeds

why do people always go on about size of bouncers means nothing

best incendent ive seen was a doorman near me was on the local door and a young traveller wanted to come in the doorman replied no traveller scum and the young lad knocked him out with a single blow :D

18 stone bloke floored in one traveller even went in and had a drink :p

I hope he ordered a cherry coke.

omg this happened to me and my mates, bouncers in Call Lane saying no girls no entry, this was at 11/12 and we all had smart clothing on and wasn't drunk, total power trip and stupid policy

total joke, still had a good night and managed to get into a few bars and spent a load of money

wont be going back again

There is a workaround... If its just you and a mate and the door guy is being awkward then don't get angry, be polite and courteous to them and see if handing them a £20 note doesn't make them change their mind.

Obviously going somewhere else is probably better if the door staff are awkward but if you *have* to be in that club because you're meeting people or you specifically went out to see a certain DJ then you don't want your night ruined just because someone took an initial disliking to you or thinks you might be a trouble maker.

I get the impression Leeds thinks it's 'cool and trendy' what with Call Lane etc. I just found it rather dire to be honest! Metrosexual galore.

That's the thing, its not at clubs. Just a few bars. I would never pay £20 to get in a bar

Yeah, one bar said we would have to buy a booth/table, I was like how much they said £100 told them to **** off, never bought a booth/table in my life, not going to start now and certainly not in some no name bar.

When ever we queue up at somewhere we've not been to or is known for only letting mixed groups in we just kind of pair off and when they ask who we're with just say "Its just us two".

I realise this might be obvious but it wasn't obvious to some on a stag do I went on recently (where it took some explaining to some guys that we should just buy the table and get into the club instead of faffing about) but the amount you pay for a table = the amount of alcohol you get.

If you're in a group and the place sells tables then its worth getting one usually as you're going to spend that much anyway, you'll tend to be able to skip the queue/entry fee and the fact they sell tables means you're unlikely to have anywhere to sit down if you don't buy one.

I once got turned away from a pub (not a club) in Sheffield as just as I was walking in with my colleagues the bouncer stepped into my way and said "No Northface". I thought he was joking and went to step around him but he grabbed me, pointed at my jacket and repeated "No Northface".
I go out maybe once every couple of years and pay zero attention to clothes branding so I was put out to say the least! I thought northface was an outdoors brand, so was he concerned I might go for a hike around the bar?!?

Hm yes weird. In my view it's been a 'standard outdoors brand'. It's not chavy at all (to my knowledge). Maybe it's 'too sporty'.

did it resemble a shellsuit top or other such sports based shinanigans if so thats why.

one thing i have to say though is it seems everyones picking some rather picky clubs to get in to. if they are that bad its down to two reasons. one its a battle ground week after week and the bouncers have had enough, two the management want to try and make it to special they get the emerdale idiots in to blow there wages and attract other z list muppets.

Why don't bouncers just be honest and say "Look guys it's a sausage fest in there, we have to keep the mix about right and there's too many guys already. You'd be best elsewhere".

so a black fleece top then basicaly. god knows, maybe thought you'd been out all day or something. who know's.

the reason they wont be honest a lot of the time the halk is no matter what you say people get a strop on.

They've had run-ins with some northwest scum, 'tis a bigger give-away than the fact they walk like they've got love eggs up the backside or have a 24/7 fear that their tackle will fall off and must keep hold of them just in case.
Only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone.

If someone is wearing NorthFace round here, it normally means they are on their way, or are just coming back from a "job".
