Boxing Day Bargains

Causing fires that wipe out families is a non-issue?

And Beko are only replacing / retrofitting if you ask as they have no idea who has what

I wasn't aware that he was buying a fridge that was going to wipe out a family?

No, buying a fridge from a vendor that had an issue it then resolved is a non-issue.

Fridges that catch fire
Cookers that gas people

It'll be a long time before I put a Beko appliance in my family home or rentals

Yup!

I wouldn't be without my trusty Liebherr, trust r fridge more than the Mrs!

No sale bargains for me...Ordered a K60 Keyboard, sadly they didnt discount it!

Am in the process of buying an oak floor, reduced from £55 per m2 to £22. Been waiting for 6 months for their sale as the chosen wood is perfect, I was hoping it would come down in price for a bit of a bargain but 60% off is a crazy deal.

Now however our sofas are "not nice enough" apparently to go with the floor so were going to have to be one of "those people" who queue outside Harveys or whatever to grab a bargain.

any chance of a link, do they have any good deals on walnut floors?

I drove passed bluewater shopping center yesterday and the ques were all the way back onto the motorway, some people are crazy! It must have took them hours to get in there, just to save a few quid.

I bought the same off eBay for £50 a few years ago, defiantly not worth the rrp still toppy @ sale.

If I'm right it'll be stave oak top which you can buy 3.5m of eBay for 135 and bits of 80mm upstand £20 for 3m then four legs say 10 each plus some bolts, don't expect dovetail joints

Hmm, not sure you can get tops that thick for that cheap, but I'll have a look. if I can get he materials cheaper than the table I will probably build one. Just thought that looked pretty decent for the price.

I have the skills to make my own but just don't have access to the machinery at the moment. If only I had money when I was a student, we had the opportunity to build whatever we wanted and all we had to pay for a the timber and even that was massively reduced price.

Check out 'The Chippy Shop' and hire a skill saw and router :)

No - there are no bargains. Anywhere. At all.

Sale would be 2500k going for £100... then i'd worship boxing day sales.

If I see a product increased by £40 then decreased by £30 and let that be called a sale, then i'll still just sit at home and not bother. People must be stupid.

It was laughable watching everyone pouring through the doors on the news.

Well, there are bargains, just not one's that you personally can justify leaving the house for.

Personally, I picked up a few shirts etc and saved a few quid. No queue's and free parking :)

The only impulse buy really was Saints Row 3 for £16 on the Amazon lightning deals. Everything else I've been planning on buying whether sale item or not.

Picked up a Bluray player for £109 down from *£309*, but they've been ~£160 for a good while now. Super inflated RRP's ***

Buying a tonne of furniture at the moment aswell, so keeping an eye out.
Also need a new TV for my games room but nothing is jumping out.

But to be honest like everyone's said already, bargains are going all year you just need to look for them. Not seen much value so far in majority of the 'sales'.

The sheep mentality of those rushing to stores is based on the fear that they are missing out on some amazing bargains regardless of whether they need it or not just because everyone else is. Of course its not just the high street but online also as in the case of the HP Touchpad firesale, ipads, etc.

You will see it on a daily basis in supermarkets when they reduce prices on food. I've often gone to a bargain section whilst everyone else is ignoring it but as soon as they see one person there, they come like a zombie mob. I usually retreat empty handed as its stale bread or nothing I actually need.

Got some Adidas footwear through their online store (50% off sale). Probably saved a tenner (Adidas store is not as cheap as elsewhere at other times).

Most sales are pretty lame these days, ery rarely see anything that looks much cheaper than it is normally.

If you want clothes then the sales are pretty good for that.

Anything else and it's more like what sale?

Most of the trainers I want are only slightly cheaper now, and if they are 40% cheaper they just happen to not have my size.
