Boxter 3.2S or Z4 3.0?

which audi engine?
1.8t i'd imagine? i dont think the v12 tdi would fit. unless you removed the front seats and sat the driver on the roof, that could work

I'l second that, the current toyota engines are just fine, you have a 190hp high reving screamer if thats what you want, or a SC high reving screamer, or a more relaxed 135hp unit

A less responsive and lower reving engine would be far less suitable IMO, however there is a turbo elise of sorts it's called the europa, i like it but i'd much rather they put the SC yota in it than the 1.8 turbo but thats just me.

I dont think replacing the toyota engines was what they were doing.. what engines did the Elise use to have? Rover?

you driven a 20vt lately? they have the most godawful power delivery ever. how was that ever meant to be a 'sporty' engine?

torque spike upto about 3.5krpm and then the torque nosedives thereafter. how gay can you get?

i really cant stand that power delivery, like a big diesel

yes I have one, you obviously haven't driven one that's remapped with a n75h valve and a turbo back system

Use to be rover, they then switched to toyota for the 111r, (sort of replaced the S2 sport 190)the old VHPD rover engines (190hp ones) were unreliable and very expensive they were basically race engines

When rover went bust, lotus only had the 111r, the base elise vanished, this was not good news as large % of sales were lost, they did a deal with yota for there 135hp non vvti 1.8 and the new elise s was born

The europa is a spin off from the elise/discountinued vx220, it uses a 1.8 turbo engine.

so if i've caused any confusion hope thats sorts it

youre very wrong.

ive driven a remapped a3 many times, that things torque delivery plummets,

i drove a 20vt coraddo on friday, 230bhp, dta management, mapped by a very respected tuner. we ran some times on it using a gtech... you could feel it had the typical 20vt delivery and the maps confirmed the same

in fact, i can find you maps for another a3 with much more extensive mods than you mentioned and it still delivers like a diesel

If I can dig out my Powerstation Rolling Road graph, I can prove you very wrong indeed. My torque reaches max at around 3000rpm, and holds it till just under 7k.

what a load of turd.

If you re-map a 1.8t properly, get a turbo back and a n75h/j with an mbc, the turbo spools about 1000rpm lower than standard and the boost is held pretty much to red-line.

that one has only had a couple of basic mods and it is peaking at 4-4.5k, just where you need it. If you want something that screams its **** off at stupid revs get VTEC yo
