So Kimi's not going to Williams. I'm not surprised.

However, it got me thinking. What if Red Bull were to bump Webber, obviously have to pay him all he's due, basically just buying him out of his contract 100%. Then just offer the seat to Kimi - no pay, drive the car for free (or maybe offer half a $million per win). For Red Bull they get a straight swap of Webber for Kimi, for Kimi he gets a seat in what's likely to be a championship winning car. Webber - gets screwed.

Could something like that happen? Would Webber be able to sue RB for far more than his actual 2012 contract claiming damage to his career and lost future earnings?

No it's unrealistic because Kimi would want a fair shot at the championship and Red Bull won't let it happen.

Webber is the perfect team mate for Vettel at the moment now that he's been put in his place.

This is true. Heiki was 7th in 2008 in the best car on the grid and had just 3 podiums.

The McLaren wasn't the best car on the grid in 2008; the Ferrari was.

But, even so, Heikki desperately underperformed in the McLaren. Which is a shame because he was a promising driver beforehand and has shown himself much better in the Lotus. I hope next year's Caterham will actually let him get some results out of his efforts.

One of the things that interests me, is that though the lotus gets a lot of stick from people about being slow, and not having enough downforce etc, I think that its main problem has been the lack of kers this year, which of course will be fixed next year. I am hoping that with the addition of the kers package next year, Caterham will at least be able to get properly into the mix and defend. It was certainly mentioned during practice, that Heikki is outdriving the car at the moment, making a number of places very early on, but unable to defend. Kers will hopefully correct that flaw (amongst other changes that they have planned).
