Is it just me or is anyone else annoyed by the way DC uses the term 'engine modes', apparently McLaren used them all up, like they're some kind of fuel

I suspect Webber is well aware he has only won by default as it were, not really one to be excited about, if Vettel's car didn't break he'd have been second and he knows it.

I don't think so. Break downs issues and driver mistakes. It's still a true win.
It's more like either he knows something, or he wants to make it out like something else happened. He likes and enjoys being the underdog and I'm sure some of the past seasons, the favouritism of Seb comments, haven been as much about portraying those as it was fact.

Webber is fairly straight talking. I'm sure he has said he doesnt want help from team orders. I doubt he'll be unhappy though.
