I wish in these type of conditions with a slim risk at that point in the track they'd get everyone to put 3 laps of extra fuel on, do 3 laps on safety car slowly to clear some water then stop on the grid and do a normal start. But 3 laps of those tires clearing water that close to the start will massively change the amount of standing water in the more risky areas.
It won't dry a track but make a normal start and the first lap less stupid and less chance of one of the first 4-5 drivers sliding and having 5 cars pile into him from behind.
Surely these guys being the "Best" should mean they can drive to the conditions and sections of the track, F1 seems like such a fair weather sport these days.

There's a point where it doesn't matter how good you are, if the tray of the car is lower than the water height. what's really annoying is they never stray racing till slicks are needed.
