He got the damage turning back to fast on Sainz I think as he over took him. Before he lost the end plate? I thought he ran over some debris on the main straight which led to his drop in pace THEN he lost the end plate.
Before those he seemed to be cruising on the medium tyres.

Maybe? I didn't see that if he did.
Just watched it. Great drive from George. Was checking in here expecting a stewards update.. nothing yet?
So does Sainz have a penalty? Is Hamilton starting P2?
Edit: weird how fast Sainz was compare to Charles?
The Stewards reviewed the start sequence, as it was observed that multiple cars were potentially out of their grid box in violation of Article 8.6.1.a) of the FIA International Sporting Code, being either to the left or right of the grid box. Having reviewed all available angles of video, and making measurements on the grid, the Stewards noted that the grid boxes were slightly smaller than usual and that the drivers’ visibility makes compliance extremely difficult and that no driver was in a position that gained any advantage. The Stewards are therefore satisfied to take no further action.
Carlos has a new engine this weekend, they are usually much quicker with new enginesJust watched it. Great drive from George. Was checking in here expecting a stewards update.. nothing yet?

Can alonso do anything bar be bitter and complain?
No, it doesn't count as a win. So it was George's first win in F1 but it doesn't count. It's also Mercedes' 81st front row lockout but no pole position.Does the sprint win count as an actual win in the stats?
Interested to see how merc play it if they come out first and second. Rbr have the straight line speed advantage but looked like they were both able to kick out of last corner better. Also Hamilton has had considerably better race pace this second half of the season. They'll probably end up tangling now...
Has 'some' right to be no? Alpine's engine failures have cost him a lot of points this season, Ocon as the TP said himself didn't leave him room, and in the end for what? Ocon finished down in 18th aways so it was all for nothing. Remember Ocon has form back from the FI days with Perez.
Should't have tangled when overtaking though. Mostly he's driven very this season but has been let down by the package.
Look forward to further spiciness from the pair since they'll be starting on the same row tomorrow.
