Not sure where you got that info, but it's been announced a final fifth season has been announced with 16 episodes, and Anna Gunn has said that the first 8 episodes should start in January 2012 (so should be well under way now).

It is thought they will split the season into two mini seasons with 8 episodes each.

Yup, apparently AMC wanted the show to go on forever (obviously). The creator wanted to wrap things up properly this season but got persuaded (forced) to spill it over into a 5th. I really hope this doesn't impact the quality. Right now i can't see how they can make a 5th season plot without having a few silly story lines in there too. I'm sure it will still be the best show on tv though.

Nice, hopefully it will be as good as the previous series'.

Gus was such an awesome bad guy, it will be interesting to see if they can ever get someone as good as him
 
This has to be one of the best series I have ever seen, ive seen Battlestar Galactics, Sopranos, the Wire and then Breaking Bad.

For sheer entertainment ill have to say Breaking Bad tops it, rarely a dull moment!

Cant wait for season 5! :D

You realise how lucrative the deal for Weiner doing Mad Men is? Add to that the budget cuts for The Walking Dead I'm cynical.

Then again Gilligan can make box episodes incredible, 'The Fly' was one of the best that he's done.

The director for that episode was a dude called Rian Johnson who is, by and large, a great director. Probably one of my favourite directors, actually. Brick is in immense film.

Oh and Breaking Bad isn't funded by AMC. They just broadcast it. Sony fund it.

If haven't seen Breaking Bad and are looking for some EPIC TV then get on it ASAP. I haven't talked to many who have watched it who disliked it.

Yeah that first episode which sets the scene, where he is out in the desert with dead people in the RV,in his pants with a gun in the middle of the road with a siren going off in the background...slow pace, indeed.

Come to think about it, the first season is only 7 episodes long and a fair amount of ground is covered in the first 4 episdoes.

Well...everyone is different I guess!
