I bought a £20 one last year and it showed I was only half way to the drink drive limit after 8 500ml cans of Kronenborg in 4 hrs. I promptly threw it in the bin.

Maybe, but I think its probably just them skimping and making a generic device for europe, instead of being UK specific, because the limit is 50mg in much of Europe.
