Bringing food on to aeroplane?

I was tucking into an airport toblerone like a greedy pig pre-take off and then there was suddenly an announcement that someone with a severe nut allergy was on the plane

Felt very awkward… probably a bit late to tell us eh? Although just almonds in a toblerone so hopefully ok…! :)

We generally stock up on snacks, take empty water bottles through and then pick up a sandwich in the airport.
I get the no nuts thing, but why not egg?

If you had a family member who could be blue lighted to A&E for the tiniest bit touching them then it shouldn't bother you.
Nuts are my favourite but when I know he's coming we have to get them away and scrub down the chair arm where I eat them and make sure he doesn't sit there.
Oh I get it. What I mean is that I am annoyed that it annoys me.
I think its because nowadays their is so much entitlement, and so many faked or overexaggerated conditions for just for the attention. It dilutes the genuine stuff.

I once flew back from Florida, had literally just cracked open a packet of dry roasted, when the message came over the speakers. I attempted to climb into my seat. :D
