**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

Anybody military here been mandated to have a profile picture on teams?

It's latest thing management are chasing when there are more important matters obviously.

Can't wait to leave in a few years time

@ivrytwr3 - you're ex tg4 right? Must be some sort of policy saying it's not mandated

TG4? GTFO!!!!

Last i read, profile pics were not mandated, if you don't want a photo on there, you were to leave it blank. However, if that's what the bosses want, is this a hill you want to die on?

To add to this:

1. Have you looked at some of the HR profile pics? More like Tinder pics!

2. My last role was in a TG4 environment and they had (still have!) a link that when you click auto changes your profile pic to one of their choosing. It was very funny, but i had to tell them to stop as it's a breach - and they wonder why they call us the Fun Police :(

It was heavily "encouraged" in my last place before I got out, along with your pronouns etc etc I never did any of it though. They stopped short of mandating it, and they got fed up asking. I'm a right old stubborn git when I want to be!

Same here, told them no till they got bored asking.

Glad I'm out nowhere would have the nerve to try and push that **** down your throat outside of the military.

Wonder how many will be called to take part compared to the number that actually reply/show?

As long as they have an up to date teams profile picture

I wonder how many have kept the MOD up to date with their address changes and whereabouts. But I guess they just have to follow the pension payments to find someone (If they've earned one)

Honestly, I probably wouldnt respond, I'm no longer their puppet, and I have no interest in participating in this kind of nonsense anymore. Dont get me wrong. In the event of an actual conflict where we as a country were at REAL risk of invasion or such. I'd do my part but I dont have time to deal with that sort of B/S. Not that my fat broken carcass would be much use to any fighting force now. I have seriously let my fitness slip a lot in the short time since leaving. Turns out when you are not paid to stay fit within work time, finding time in your own schedule isnt so easy. Especially when you work 10-12hr days 5 days a week. I should really work on that though for my long term health more than anything. Need to find some sort of routine that works for me.

I feel your pain mate. I knew if I left fully that I would struggle to keep it going, but my half civvie/half reservist role still requires a fitness test (if you can call it that with the current standards) so I always have that in the back of my mind to try and keep running regularly.

Also, as you say, for general health - I had to stop for 4 months due to injury at the start of the year and I felt like absolute dog-egg during it. The first few runs were horrific when I got back into it again but they’re slowly getting back to how I felt before and I’m generally so much better overall it does wonders for my mental health too, not feeling like the fat slob I look like!

Absoutly no chance, most people will wait for a knock on the door.

I'll be one of them and I'd only attend if there was a legitimate threat to life or my long term freedom but I'd see it as a jail sentence.

Thankfully I'm unlikely to be useful to them in a warzone, couldn't shoot then and no chance I'd be any use now :p

How many did you get on target? Yep that's what I got, cheers.

This was expected even for regulars when I joined - Army that is.

Some kit to such a poor standard as to basically force the recipient to purchase it themselves, or simply not provided at all
Then you get some complete throbber give you hassle for deploying with non-issue kit... Cant win!

I've been out 12 years now. Never had a single letter from them. Other than pension statements.
I'm 55 next year and as far as I'm concerned, that's it. 22 years was more than enough for me.

You don't get one if you don't have reserve liability - but you only usually lose it if you were kicked out (discipline or medically) - probably some mess up up with your address details been incorrect on JPA.
