Just back from the docs and it seems they are finally going to Med discharge me. Its only taken them 12 months to decide this. Not going to moan too much as that has been 12 months at home paid. Still would have been nice to know what was going on a bit earlier..
Time to find a house, job new life somewhere... Its all a bit scary.

When you expecting to get MD'd? Assuming you're going to be going though a resettlement course and what not?

I,m out this november anyway at my 16 year point (15 + 1 for the queen) so the doc is waiting until the end of march to send me off to the med board so it works out I still leave on my exit date and don't loose any pay. Just started resettlement but its going to be deffered until later on when i,m a civvy and feeling more up to it. You can do it up to 3 years after leaving the Raf with a doctors referal.
 
Ah fair one. Well good luck with the transition anyway. Doesn't seem like a bad time to be getting out anyway with the amount of stuff changing. Hardly going to be the same in the near future.
Good that you can defer the course till you find yourself a bit more settled, rather than having it and then leaving right away.
 
Currently sat in quarantine in aldoshot, been here for 36hrs so far. Doing my nut in. Gib is pretty fast paced so I bet I'll be playing serious catch up tomorrow. Never gone sick ever, what a time to start :(

What is your injury if you don't mind me asking? Also, what sort of package have they given you? email if you want (and actually don't mind answering me).

I'm injured at the moment and I can't see myself returning to full duties any time soon so just doing a bit of homework on the whole process.

EDIT

Just seen you're RAF, will be different for me, I'm Army.

Bet there are more RAF than that, since most of us travel in civvies!

I wanted to go back this morning but they wouldn't let me due to my temp. So hopefully tomorrow. Just means I've missed quite a chunk of the first module and the test is Thursday. It's sports afternoon tomorrow so going to see if I can use that time to catch up on work instead. I asked for them to send my work here too but they obviously couldn't be bothered ha
 
Nor am I. Enjoying a 2nd day off too, by doing sweet FA :D.
Got 2 days on an All Ranks Brief on Thursday and Friday though urgh :(.

I have Ulcerative colitis (Bowel Disease) and Irratable bowel casused by the colitis. I'm currently awaiting to have my colon removed. I,m going to be medically discharged and i'm waiting to find out what sort of package they offer me. My 15 (16 years as one for the queen) year point is up this november so they are aiming to get everything to be around november so I don't loose out on pay. I have been offered full resettlement but i'm having this defered until I will be fit enough to do it which will be when i'm out the Raf..

The Avionics vs Armourer one had me in stitches, so true though.... :D:D
