British Beaches

No offence Muban, but you are in Scotland!! (with that said the Hebridean beach's are really nice looking, just not any thing else. ;) )

Can't find a good pic, but this will do: http://www.hebrideanguesthouse.co.uk/photos/hushinish.jpg[img]
If you use someones images you should host them yourself, leeching is bad form. :)

Living in the Midlands I don't know sod all about British beaches :p

When I lived on the Cote d'Azur, it varied a lot. The beach at Nice is a shingle/pebble beach I didn't like too much. But go to Cannes, or a bit further down to places like La Napoule, and the sand is very fine, and not crowded at all :)

The beach at Durness (far North West tip of Scottish Mainland) is simply amazing...

It has large outcrops of what is called "Oyster Rock" scattered across it (it's actually a Mylonite from the Moine Schist) but back to the beach (lol) ... it's awesome!

Found some pics from when I was there in Easter:

British beaches, LOL
they are for low class chavs, everyone else goes abroad to somewhere decent.

OMG really? So instead of driving 10 mins to the beach i MUST get on a plane to go to a foreign beach just to avoid being labelled a chav! I* better stop paying £400 a year for my beach hut too!

*my mum :o :p

Spooky, I looked out some pictures of Durness but didn't get round to posting them. Best beach ever.

There are some fantastic beaches in the UK. The only problem is to enjoy them fully you need glorious sunshine and warm weather (unless you're a surfer), which sadly we don't get enough of.

Some that I've been to in the last year;

Woolacombe in North Devon is superb and a blue flag beach. Very popular.

Pendine sands in South West Wales is great. They used to attempt the Land Speed Record there years and years ago and overlooking the beach is the Museum of Speed.

Newgale beach in West Wales is another superb beach and fairly quiet.

Living nearly 100 miles from a beach but being born in the country and growing up near one is annoying. I love the sea.

I guess there are some nice ones, but it's not like the Med, first of all the climate is different, and in many places the sea is just too dirty to do anything.

Definitely not my sort of beach at all, way too cold

nearest beach to me ,redcar, aint bad if you ignore the steelworks behind you and the oiltankers on the horizon . :p

the sand is actually ok though

the beach above that Brycheiniog posted makes it look 100x worse though :/ lol

I go to a place called southbourne in the summer, its just down the road from bournemouth! same sand with less people, perfect for a poor student like me!

The best thing about Durness beach is the colour of the water - the pics don't really show but the sea around there is an awesome turquoise blue colour, really bright! It looks like a Caribbean paradise on a sunny day!

When its sunny and warm, there's some lovely beaches in the UK - however getting sunny & warm to co-operate is tricky than tricking professor trickster of tricky university at his own tricks!
