British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

True about Massa.

The new bbc player is rubbish. Black bars all over the place even in full screen. They say its so they can provide extra content. Yet they aren't proving any at the moment.

Surprise surprise its another rubbish development due to the Olympics.

There are a number of complaints about it already.

Just tried it myself. I knew about it but not tried it. I get audio but no video.
Great...

*goes back to Sky*

So, lets presume the worst... the circuit gets totally washed out with the weather over the weekend. Based on recent wet races, the race never gets going due to too much standing water. They lose the window in which to race. What happens?

I wonder if they'd go off qualifying results?

How bad was the rain? Would they race in it?

They'd have raced in the rain at FP1 levels I would think.

It got much heavier during GP2 practice, and they cancelled the session with a few minutes to go after 2 or 3 red flags - so given similar circumstances on Sunday, I could well imagine a suspended race whilst they wait for the rain to ease.

They said on the BBC that 60% of a F1 teams budget goes on airo!
well to save money get rid of airo and give the car back to the drivers that will sort it for the lower teams.

Yep, as they fail to make 107% in any qualifying session they can save 100% of their budget by not showing up!

I don't think there is any fear of the race being called off.

Delayed while they wait for rain to ease, highly likely. But it won't be cancelled.

The issue with Fuji in 2007 was low cloud stopping the medical helecopter being able to fly, but there have been choppers in and out all day here.

Carparks going to be a mess though, lol!
