Oh dear. After the slating he's been giving the team about qualifying mistakes this will make him so cheerful.

Sounds like when he was weighed by the FIA he was 1.5kg under weight and yet weighed by the team "later" he was the right weight.

Will be interesting to see if there is any more to this going to come out - but its strange for the driver to be causing the weight difference (of this much).

Pity for him, as it wouldn't have made a difference to q3.

Looks like Merc did it again......not that tyre-gate made any difference of course:eek:

Great lap from Lewis. Unfortunately i think the Merceds poor race pace and tyre wear will rear it's ugly head and Vettel will win.

I would love to see Hamilton and Vettel go head to head in a Red Bull.

The FIA scales were checked with 600kg and they weighed at 599.5kg so scales were under weighing by half a kilo. SFI couldn't add or remove anything as the car is in Parc Ferme.

This is possibly a really dumb question, but if the scales potentially misweighed di-resta then why didnt they check the scales with something known to weigh something similar to di-resta's weight? it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that the error from the scales was not a constant or even a linear error, so a 0.5kg error for a 600kg weight does not necessarily mean a 0.5kg error at whatever di-resta's weight is (or even a 0.083% error if it was a linear error)

if they do have to make up the weight then is there anything stopping di-resta from just wearing incredibly heavy shoes, or eating every burger at silverstone to put on the weight?

McLaren have all but admitted they are abandoning this years car to concentrate on the 2014 car.

However they will continue to develop parts for this years car that may be beneficial next year.

Di Resta will start from the back of the grid.

Excluded from qualifying.

BTW Force India sources confirm that @pauldirestaf1 did not do a big poop between FP3 and qualy so that doesn't explain it...

Good to know. :D

:(

One of there scales must be wrong, either FIA or force indias.

Apparently another car weighed less than the team expected, but wasn't under the weight limit.

I'd suspect that it is Force India's scale that's out. Otherwise you'd hear about all the cars being under expected weight and lots of protesting.

Hope Lewis can pull through this time with a win!

How about this for a prediction: Lewis, Vettel, Ricciardo :p

Or how about Webber just to troll F1 from here on in and beat Seb most races.

If they can keep Vettel behind one of them for a bit, it is possible. If Vettel gets past in the opening lap, he'll be away like usual :p
