British Grand Prix 2014, Silverstone - Race 9/19

YEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET IN !!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!! #TEAMJENSON #ICHIBAN #PINK4PAPPA YESSSSSSSSSSAS!!!!!!!!!

He won't need to turn it to 11 to get passed Rosberg. 7 should do it ;) Tempting to have a punt on Lewis to win the race.

I would too, but the odds are actually worse then when he qualifies in second or third in previous years, as the merc is so dominant, his odds are only 5/2 to win.

That isn't encouraging me to punt anything.

Probably be a repeat of last race. Flying through the field on lap 1, then stuck behind Rosberg all race, and ends up losing to pit stop delays.

Not because of the qualifying result but because Lewis will know that Rosberg realised how slow the third sector was during their first runs and how much time was available to make up and he didn't. Lewis just didn't think about it or realise it whilst Rosberg did and he'll be dwelling on that a lot.

Yeah. And Lewis was in the car during that final third sector they were aiming for, he should have known how much he'd had to lift out.

As much as I'd love Hamilton to win, he's just making too many errors and getting himself into awkward situations to justify a WDC. Sack the glamourpuss lifestyle and keep your head down.

Rosberg is calm and consistent, just quietly getting on with it. If he does win this year it will be thoroughly deserved, at least as showing his teammate how it should be done goes. The car advantage makes it a given.

He made a judgement call and got it wrong. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I don't know why he backed out - they handed those sets of tyres back anyway. Unless he thought he was at risk of spinning off and damaging the car, but the decision he made proves he wasn't thinking that far ahead anyway.

Should be a cracking race tomorrow though.

I think what probably makes it worse for Hamilton is it seems a very un-Hamilton thing to do... Usually you'd think he'd keep pushing and go for it if given the chance.

Well in currently supping cider and having a bbq on litchlake campsite while some lads are performing Gary Glitters classic do u wanna be in my gang? on karaoke booming across the site with someone else blasting out the chain.

Love camping at Silverstone.

Pretty sure Lewis can move up past everyone but Rosberg, all things being equal, but he really needs Rosberg to DNF to have any chance of finishing first. Seems unlikey given Rosberg's reliability so far, but Rosberg is due a DNF.

I'm pretty annoyed at Lewis as I'm sure he is with himself. He made a school boy error by backing out of that lap and he should be past those sort of mistakes by now. He needs to focus and keep Rosberg in his sights cause I'm already getting the feeling that this WDC is starting to slip away from him.

I'm still on the verge of punting an each-way bet on Hamilton to win.

Seems like certain money with the advantage the merc has (and 20% chance of rain), but I know if I did Ham will crash in to someone, and if I don't he'll finish 1 or 2 :p

Had some money back from HMRC so almost considering it a "free" bet but I know I'd sulk either way (loss or through hindsight).

Paddy power are doing money back as a free bet if your driver doesn't finish

Got myself a nice spot at Vale in GA for the day. Bit chilly at the moment! Fingers crossed Lewis can make up for his Q3 mistake!

Exactly, he has everything to beat rosberg. We all know he's faster, we all know wheel to wheel there's only one winner and yet rosberg is so easily able to get under his skin. Jesus he managed to not buckle under Alonso's tricks but Britney seems to be breaking him.
Let's remember that everything is going Rosbergs way so far, he doesn't really have anything to buckle under. He was very quick to start whining and grumbling to anyone who would listen earlier in the season, when Hamilton apparently moved over on him. A few DNF's will show us that he isn't as mentally hard as people think.

It's a shame Hamilton made that mistake yesterday because not only would he (first corner stupidness allowing) have won the race but IMO would have done so by a good margin and reminded us all that he is by the far the quicker of the two.

Still, If he has a good start today like last time out, I think he can win.

And wtf happened to Williams? What a disappointment, was hoping for something special from them this weekend.

I didn't say Rosberg was mentally hard, I don't think he is which makes hamiltons broken child demeanour all the more worrying. Hamilton did move over on Rosberg and got away with it because they are in the same team. I don't think he would have if he'd done that on someone else. Another team would have appealed against that move.

It's a long game, I'm still confident Hamilton should win it by the end.

Hamilton's issue is that he gets very, very down unnecessarily. Recently Monaco is the obvious one (he was still 2nd on the grid with a good chance of winning FFS!), but yesterday was unreal.

He should have come out and said "I messed that up and I'm vastly disappointed for the fans, but I'm going to come out fighting and take it to Rosberg for them tomorrow". He should have been charging himself up already, using it as energy and motivation and excited by the charge ahead he used to relish in, but instead he just sulked. As much of a boring moaner as he was Mansell channelled the energy from the crowd... yesterday Hamilton just whimpered away with his "I've don't want to talk about it".
