British Grand Prix 2014, Silverstone - Race 9/19

Expect the Mclarens to qualify outside the top 10, not much new there then. The car is an absolute turd this year despite what Woking say about the CFD and WT correlation. I really don't care, it's getting old now, this season is an utter write off again.

We struggle severely on high speed corners which Silverstone is full of :/

Perhaps they just need a decent driver?

Perhaps you are clueless about Formula 1. Incase you're a noobie to the Sport I'll fill you in.......

The car makes up 99 percent of the performance.

Want facts? Fine...

Sebastian Vettel, won 4 WDCs in last reg's car. Now? Getting humiliated by Ricciardo. Why? Car? Or is Seb really just gone that crap in his own ability over night?

Raikonnen, regarded as one of the fastest and best racers of all time. Consistently finishing 10th, 11th, maybe 8th if lucky. Why? Car?

Alonso... everyone keeps saying he's the best driver since Senna... how many WDCs has he won since 2006? None I hear you say? Why? Hmm I wonder......

Rosberg, where was he before Mercedes. Consistently finishing in midfield spots... 10ths, 11ths, 12ths etc.

Hamilton, give him a crap car? Throws steering wheel [dummy] out of the car [pram]. Joins another team. Why? Perhaps car?

Oh wow Mercedes have a car 2 seconds quicker than anyone else.... Rosberg leads the 2014 WDC.

Coincidences everywhere ! :D

If you stuck Kamui Kobayashi in Rosbergs car this weekend do you think he'd qualify lower than 5th?

:D

Rosberg said he might 'forget' to share some data with Hamilton's side of the garage, but that was a week or so ago I think.

This is the most recent comment about it: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114652

And Hamilton doesn't do the exact same thing? Of course he does unless he's the biggest mug the sport has ever seen. There's very little either can hide though and all the data is there for both sides to see. Non story if you ask me, hardly any evidence Rosberg copies Hamilton and with holds anything. Not a lot he could withold.

Rosberg withholds a few brain cells, pretty much all there is to it :D

yup, Button, fastest car in the field, wins championship, moves to team without a 1 second gap and is no where.

I'm going tomorrow for four days camping at Woodlands and watching from Vale.

First time going so it should be good :)

Jenson Button has been told to try harder by McLaren’s executive chairman, Ron Dennis. The 2009 world champion heads for Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone knowing he is out of contract at the end of the season.

Dennis appreciates that the cars driven by Button and his team-mate, Kevin Magnussen, are far from race winners. McLaren, however, believe Button should be leaving the rookie Magnussen in his wake. Only 14 points separate the duo in the standings.

“I’m happy with the drivers in the sense I think they are giving their best,” said Dennis, speaking to Sky Sports. “I’m sure Kevin is giving a big wake-up call to Jenson. In some ways you say: ‘Great, we’ve made a great choice with Kevin.’

“But in other ways you say: ‘Come on Jenson, you are a world champion and absolutely one thing you can do on a consistent basis – and you should be doing it – is beating your team-mate.’

“Do I want him to try harder? Of course I do. He’s a highly paid grand prix driver. Yes, we are not giving him the best car; yes, it would be challenging for him to win in this car to say the least, but he could do his bit and Kevin has to make it as difficult for him as possible.”

Apart from competing directly with Hamilton - but yeah I guess thats nowhere

Classic Ron speak. Saying loads without saying anything.

Actually says very little - but while we are at it , wheres that quote from Ron earlier in the year stating for definite McLaren will win a race this year lol

A friend of mine got free general admission 3-day tickets, but we're only going for the race on Sunday.

I don't follow the sport anymore, but this is my first Grand Prix so I can't wait!

Did lol.

Mclaren were talking about Kevin being the "second coming" and all that hype before the season kicked off, so Jenson is beating him in the WDC and still isn't doing enough.

It is rather funny how I've heard no one else but Ron (ie. Damon Hill, Herbert, Davidson, Brundle, Coulthard etc.) say that Jenson needs to up his game, those pundits have just mentioned how the car isn't delivering.

This is why he's saying Jenson needs to up his game. He's made himself look like an idiot by claiming we'll win a GP this year. Now he's realised the car isn't capable of getting on the podium let alone winning a race so he's looking to blame someone else, even his own drivers.

It's no good blaming individuals when your entire aero department is inept.
