Point of impact, both pointing to the Apex...

I don't think Verstappen expected Hamilton to still be there when he turned in.

didn't it used to be a thing that 3/4 along side on the inside basically meant that guy had earned the line? (not necessarily f1 but racing etiquette in general)

To be honest a penalty pretty much makes ****** all difference anyway he'll still beat all of them bar Bottas.

Max was dumb to be fighting life and death when he has a 30 point lead which is now gonna have 20 odd points knocked off.

How does this compare to Russell and Sainz yesterday? Similar incident although I didn't agree with the penalty.

Yeah because he had the slipstream, if Verstappen didn't try to squeeze him into the barrier and gave him room contact would have been less likely. Verstappen was blocking his view of the corner trying to squeeze him.
The two former drivers commentating have already blamed Hamilton, I'd rather take their point of view having driven at this circuit.

max didn’t squeeze him though!

Anyone that has seen the overhead footage can see that Lewis ends up in the middle of the track, can't do that if you're trying to send it down the inside off the racing line.
