I broke my little toe the other week (combination of a cat, a kitchen stool, and stupidity).

It's currently strapped to the toe by it!
Has this happened to anyone else before? (The broken toe part, not the how I did it part). How long will it hurt for?

Hurts to walk and I want to get back to the gym (swimming especially)

Cheers!

I take it you've been to the doctor? It'll hurt as long as it's healing.

I have broken several toes and fingers, and it hurts for a while - and takes ages to heal as you're constantly using them.

Think I did this on holiday...went all dark blue and black...eventually 'healed' after a couple of weeks...Occasionally it can hurt.

To be honest though my toe is so small it may as well be a small stump anyway ;)

EDIT: Oh and goto the Docs if you're worried that much

Depends on how bad the break is. Hairline fracture you're looking at 2-6 weeks, proper fracture you're looking at up to 3-4 months.

I broke two toes when I was about 12, I somehow managed to kick an ironing board whilst running through the house

went to hospital and there was nothing they could do except advise me , keep weight off them, etc

Disolcated and most likely fractured the second knuckle up on my little finger on my left hand catching American football. Though it wasn't much of a catch and it hurt like hell. Went in to shock actually (sweats, felt sick and a little white out) lol.

Have a lovely bruise all up the finger and down the side of my hand and extra mobility to the left on the knuckle now. Not to mention the swelling, it's about the size of my thumb.

I've stubbed my little toes so many times they don't even hurt any more. Beyond broken, most likely shattered to bits!

I've broken my little toe. Kicked the supermarket trolley wheel whilst in flip-flops.

Hurt for about 2 weeks, still twinged for a couple of weeks after that if I had shoes on which pressed on my toe.

Went black and blue, was horrible! :)

Ouch that throbbing feeling..
I dropped a 20kg plate side down on to my toe.. Smashed it too pieces.. I cycled to A&E with a Tesco bag sellotaped round my foot. Every little helps..

Seriously, the doctor said when I'm old, fragments of bone will suddenly appear at the bottom of the bed. I told him the wife always looks like that.

I went to the A&E when I did it. It was all out of place, and discolated too.
Had X-Ray to confirm the break, and then the doc yanked and pulled the toe back into place.

Needless to say, that hurt like hell.

Broke my toe a few years ago, was on holiday in cyprus. The villa I was staying at had an uneven floor tile which I accidentally kicked.

It was a "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUU" moment. Toe started swelling and going blue. Doctors said just keep weight off it and take painkillers. Took about 2 full months for it to heal.

Doc has given me a months worth of strongish painkillers which are helping!
Guess I need to put up with it until it heals! Not much else I can do really

Yep, my little toe was run over by a bus, doc just said there was nothing they could do, strapped it up and took painkillers.

Broke one of my big toes last year. Hurt for ages but more of a dull pain after a few weeks.

Broke my little finger on New Years Day. Still hurts now and it is still a little swollen. Only because I keep accidentally jabbing thing with it. :o

I caught my little toe on a dumbell when walking across my living room a couple of weeks ago. It hurt like hell then went purple, swelling has mostly gone down now but I'm still walking with a limp like an idiot!

So you probably have at least a month of joy ahead of you I'm afraid.

I felt so low
When I broke my toe
Now listen close
To my tale of woe
Though I may
Not let it show
It ******* hurts
When you break your toe

LOL :D
