Broken toe

I'm constantly breaking fingers and toes (hockey player, plus I have a strange habit of doing it) - it'll heal in due course, be a bit painful for a while though. Just keep it strapped up, but not too tight or it'll prohibit the healing :)

Yeah I broke my little toe once. Kicked the end of a door running through the house. I remember it was pretty damn painful!

yeah! Both mine are deformed! They lay over the toe beside it.
Right one obviously worse now.

My Grandad had the same with his toes. Maybe it's genetic?

i hit my little toe against the bathroom door opening about 6 weeks ago. It went black for a few days and hurt like hell. Still hurts now if i bend it a bit. Worried that 'sod's' law, says i will hit it soon again, and i know that that will hurt

didnt go to the Doctors nor hospital. Perhaps I should have, or still should. Like i said 6 weeks or so and it still hurts when you bend or twist it.

i broke my big toe. It hurt for weeks

Broke my right big toe in a 50-50 footie challenge. I lost that tacke obviously. I knew the moment I had done it. My overlong toe nails probably had something to do with it too. It was a nightmare getting A&E to look at it or getting an XRay (which didn't happen in the end). Could barely walk for a week so couldn't go to work. You can't put a cast so it was only strapped for a few weeks. Had ultrasound treatment which was meh.

Now I can't bend it really and it often makes a cracking sound. Fine playing football now though.

:(

I broke my 2nd to last toe 3 days before christmas last year by accidently kicking the spindles in my banister, it broke all the down into the top of my foot. I couldn't even have it strapped, that hurt :'( all better now though :-) x

I broke my little toe, had to wear a thick sock plus a bandage around my toes AND walk on the inside of my foot for weeks to avoid agony.

Just make sure it's set right and not at a dodgy angle and deal with it, all you can do.

What's really weird about a toe/foot injury is.. No one EVER treads on your feet, or you never ever drop anything on your feet, unless of course you have an injury there, it's like a magic pain magnet that gives off some secret signals to others to accidentally attack the injured foot, another one of life's great unsolved mysteries.

No idea about broken bones, but about 6 years ago I trapped my right ring finger in a heavy metal door... swelled up and hurt for a few days, and then just went normal coloured again, but remained slightly enlarged - to this day my right ring finger bone in the second segment is bigger, the bone feels to be larger and a bit bumpy. I love my slightly deformed finger  . Maybe you'll get a cool barely noticeable deformity too - trust me, it's awesome.

When I was about 6-7 I shut the door of a rusty old Jag on 2 of my fingers, the locks were broken as well so you had to open it with a key, these happened to be inside the house.

I was quite popular for a while because I had to have my hand splinted and wrapped up, however this was countered by the fact I wasn't allowed to use the sandpit :(

Broke mine about 7 weeks ago and it's still not healed properly. Should have had it strapped up the whole time really...:(

How do you know its broken? I punched a TV screen years ago (stupid I know) and all my hand swelled up like a balloon, I didn't even think I could have broken something.

Was very painful for a good few week from what I remember.

I did exactly the same thing to my right index finger (going over the bars on my BMX) years ago. It has full strength & flexibility back now, but if I compare my index fingers looking from above, the right one is noticably wider (and slightly bumpier-feeling) around the knuckle. And it still hurts occasionally if I climb/grip a lot in the cold.
