I have asked Zotac if they would do a 600W bios.
Out of interest have you found a situation where you are limited by the 495w bios ? every card i have seen while playing games is sitting between 300w-450w unless you put on something like fur mark and force it to use all the power .

Fur mark does not push the core or ram up much.
It goes to 64c with fans on auto.

The board pulled about 410W for a bit

The 600W boards do pull 600W+

They will be voltage limited at 600w and burning power for the fun of it , check Debauers video where he overclocks the card or even jay2cent and both show that on 600w cards .

Over 70% of the forum were right then...

Smart bunch on here.

;)
right about what?
there's no right or wrong here. you either wanted a 4090 or you didn't. the majority didn't want one, big surprise considering the price.
i don't see many, if any, forum members posting about regretting buying their 4090's, i'm certainly very happy i did. i made the right decision for me.

I think at the time of poll people didn't realise quite what the 4080 12gb was.

There's been some leaked benchmarks of the 4080 12gb showing it's around the performance of a 3090 but looking at the specs unless they were able to clock the cores and memory pretty high I'd be dubious about real terms performance being much better than a 3080 12gb (which seems really odd given it's 'next gen').

So... 148 peeps said they would buy one, and the 4090 owners thread has.... 46 owners when I last counted..hmmmm.

I voted to not buy, perfectly happy with the 3090. But gotta say if they were in stock and not at scalpy prices I'd buy one! Can't resist the shiny shiny gadget addiction :D

Yep. A few were lol'ing at the 3090 ages ago 10% and all that. Then two years later a similar card in the guise of a 4060Ti 4080 12GB is presented and your not even sidegrading! And to boot the price was near a grand!

The theory was a 4070 would beat the 3090 and on this evidence I would think not.

That was before nvidia decided to release the 4060 and 4070ti labeled as 2 4080s. Other than a 4090 ADA Lovelace is a flop.

Yep, a lot of assumptions nvidia were going to generously sell x080's all the time on the 102 die for the price they had the 3080 launch was optimistic at best.
I think we all expected a rise on the 3080 price point of $700, I thought it would be $800-900 at most but I don't think anyone saw $1200 coming and what really adds the insult is the **** performance. 3090 > 4090 +75% performance for a 7% price increase, 3080>4080 +40% performance for a 72% cost increase.

Tesla 2.0 (GTX 285) to Fermi (GTX 580) = 67% increase

% = performance increase from previous generation from Techpowerup reviews.
? = coming soon....

Add the prices and you see how greedy Nvidia has become over time.

We need to ignore the name companies write on the box and focus on how fast every generation's *money* goes.

What performance do we get at a given price point from one gen to the next? I don't care what they scribble on the box.

LOL you say there is no right or wrong then say you made the right decision.

So they were right too.

No offence.
