browser cache and ssd

I do a far bit of web surfing and was wondering, would disabling firefox browser cache reduce writing to the disk?

Or would that be pointless as it writes to it anyway and deletes it afterwards?

couldn't you adjust the location of the browser cache to an alternative drive, maybe through the registry?
