Bruce sacked

A good job? Not sure about that, he's spent millions on average players, the players he spent not so much on have been decent signings, Larrson being one.

TBH even though I like Brucey he's got to be held responsible for not replacing Bent, Sunderland look completely clueless up front

I thought Gyan was Bent's replacement, not much Bruce could do about what happened with him.

He may well have not signed anyone in the summer due him assuming Gyan was staying around but that's hardly much of an excuse is it, having just one senior striker at the club is barely any better than having none. They'll surely buy in January and with the quite handy midfield they've got a striker could really be the difference between a top 7 finish and a bottom 3 for them IMO

Well he signed Campbell, Wickham and Bendtner on loan.

I'm not sure about Bruce, he never seems to achieve what he should considering the amount he's spent.

Must admit I did forget about Bendtner, Wickham and Campbell aren't what I'd call senior strikers though (the latter mainly due to being injured for 2 years now)

So far though all Bendtner has done is shown why Wenger stuck him on the wing for so long :p

Bendtner is OK as a link forward as he brings others into the game well but he isn't best as an out-and-out striker, if Sunderland had him paired with Gyan he might do OK. Haven't seen enough of him up there but I'd imagine he is playing the furthest up the pitch.

One things I will say about Sunderland, they are one of the biggest spending clubs in the Premiership in recent years. Since 2006 the only teams that have a bigger net spend are MC, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Villa. In fact their net spend is more than that of Man United, Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle and Stoke COMBINED

Not sure what they should do, on the one hand I feel Sunderland are really not that far from being a decent side, on the other their results have been mediocre and the board should expect a bigger return on their investment.
