Brushed alu/wood über case...

If vibration is a problem - Polipods or Vibrapods (the 'cheaper' aftermarket stereo feet - AudioQuest Big Feet for the win - but you not making a Hi-Fi) pointless on carpet but if on a desk ideal.

Or google - 'rubber feet' and 'cabinet feet' for some options.

low profile ones could be mounted in for the edge so the case looks like it's floating :)

Feet are made thanks to a hole-saw and some leftover teak, will stick some chair-leg-pad thingies on.

Bits are in! However to turn the thing on I'm having to poke a USB cable end onto the motherboard jumpers :D

If anybody has a switch (any old one will do, its to be on the back) and/or a thing that will connect to the front_audio pins --> green hole.

Photos taken but need to make the perilous trek downstairs to the mac to get them off the camera so they'll be on later.

I can't stand tidying the workplace mid-job :D

All help would be appreciated, I value your collective experience as I have none so far (except for changing RAM in a Mac Mini :p)

Jim

its a fair task mate building your own case especially if youve only changed a stick of memory

Stinka, I think this man can achieve anything if he's had the experience of changing RAM in a Mac Mini! As far as I can remember this procedure involves two putty knives, a bottle of Valium for your nerves, and a very large quantity of pot luck!

It's nice to see someone appreciates how terrifying it was :D

Any of you who think we are overreacting just go and try it for yourselves :p
