BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

<-- 0.5 meters exactly. The cab backs onto bushes where I have built a shed and moved in. Though untill I can get some fiber terminating equipment to bypass the MSAN, I'm stuck with the 40Mb cap. LOL

60 Meters straight line.
220 Meters going down the middle of the road to the DP and then my house.
300 Meters acording to the engineers JDSU. Which is probably about right because we are up a hill.

Ali line with 40/10 sync, 38717/10000 profile and 37.5/8Mb throughput. :D

Had an interesting issue that BT support actually solved . So my connection was intermittent, first time since Infinity was installed so i assumed it was them, apparently adding 2 touchpads to the wireless was enough to near kill the router and had to do a hard reset and input all my settings again. Now considering a new router.

Just got BT Internet put into my new flat, first time using them having previously used VirginMedia. Not too happy with this 10 days for my internet to settle garbage before I get a decent speed but I'll have to wait it out. Getting a wireless adapter aswell to connect to my homehub for my pc and the TP-Link High Gain from OC is looking very tasty!

what are good alternatives to the standard home hub that gets sent with a bt infinity install?

I've been using a NETGEAR Router WNR3500L as a replacement and it's much better for me over the HH3, especially being able to use QoS and better wireless speeds/coverage.

tbh uploading that much on a residential connection is taking the mick a bit and half the reason we end up with traffic management and crappy packages in the first place :(

No throttling or caps - Done 1.5tb this month ;)

Taking the mick a bit ? 1.5TB? How can you legally justify that mate and pay so little per month.Im glad your not on my local cab. And tbh and if you continue to rip the arse out of infinity then everyone else will soon find thier net being slowed to a crawl because of 0.1% of selfish people like you.

Seriously catch yourself on!

It's no problem if you go with a decent ISP and pay a reasonable amount. My ISP will never introduce traffic management.

He can transfer as much as he likes. Blame BT Infinity for introducing "unlimited".
