BT ordered to block pirate links

Everyone, of course not. Vast majority he'll yeah. Again look at music. If they actually meant what they said, they would have switched over. Yet they are still saying it's not good enough. Ebeppven though all the services are there. It's down to money for most people nothing else.

You can't offer. A better service, it's impossible. You release free updates. Oh wait but you can just download those updates for free. They release friend, oh wait the files there waiting to be downloaded for free.

Once something gets so integrated, accepted and starts damaging, you have no option but to criminalise.

Well this is just our personal opinions now, nothing is based on facts. If we looked at online music sales after music went DRM free and after Spotify, Rdio and other launched I bet we'd see a decrease in piracy, but as I said that's a personal opinion and I don't know where I can check to see if my point of view holds up.

What you get with piracy is a better service. No adverts, no DRM, quick easy high quality HD access.

.

He's saying it, but how many have switched to buying music. All that is avilable for music. Go as far to say music has the edge as you can get streaming services.
But yet these people haven't switched to buying. So what does that tell us. That them saying it's because of x,y,z actually qanat the case. The case was they could get it for free with no fear of being caught.

You and I both don't know the numbers, so why waste your time even asking?

I didn't realise I was asking. You just have to remember threads from a few years ago and see how many are still talking about torrent/news sites. This I have no doubt will be similar accros the board.

This is just stupid, wait till the sites allows mirrors like wikileaks and we will be laughing.
Alright a few sites will be blocked, so what? How long will it be till Isp's give you off shore Vpn's? Not long by my reckoning, then what is going to happen? Will Vpn's be blocked?

There's no guarantee that there will be another version. Not all films do it. And consumers shouldn't be put in that sort of position where they have to second guess. If you want to sell something, you're supposed to make it as pain free as possible for the consumer. Not make them second-guess their own decisions.

So buy the first version and leave the second. Seriously. As long as a majority of people show that they are prepared to pay and put up with this sort of thing, it will keep happening. Vote with your wallet. Don't buy twice.

I find it hilarious really, just now a 3 minute piece on BBC News practically just highlighted and advertised how great Newzbin is to the nation with their content and gave a tour of the site.

I bet as we speak Newzbin are breaking records with new members signing up this very moment!

People are. I'm not saying this is some trick I fall for, for every movie that's released. The point is this is one of many small things these companies need to change to offer a better experience to the people paying their wages.

What I don't understand is a complete lack of regard for common sense, how come Nzb's which are not infringing copyright files are deemed as illegal and require blocking?. The music industry definitely has a long way to go, I don't see why profits can't be made from concerts. In fact I think China is using this model as piracy is legal.
We are now on a slippery slope, say goodbye to your rights on the internet. Soon Vpn's/Proxies/Tor will be banned, I see this block as a pebble in the road and is not going to do anything to anyone determined to get Nzb's. Of course I was saying that Vpn's will be banned as we are now on this slope, what they have forgotten is it costs barely anything these days to buy a vps and if they were blocked then a lot of legitimate businesses would go down the pan. The site owners are probably rubbing there hands, Mirrors of the site being launched in 3...2..1. The funny thing is, this is a futile block. Anyone who uses nzb's knows that there are so many other alternative sites and more to come if one goes down.

Seems reasonable to me; I have never understood why ISPs were allowed to make money out of piracy

Is that a troll comment?
Seriously, what on earth are you blabbering about now?

Its gone from comedy stockhausen to trolltime with stockhausen.

Where does it stop?
BT are allowing you to post on this forum, that might upset profits of madness magazine, should they be able to petition the courts to get this site blocked.

If the rria have an issue with a website, they should go after the website, not the ISPs.
You don't take Samsung to court when you get offended by a TV program, you take it up with the TV channel.

While I agree that its wrong, this has been happening for awhile with the IWF blacklist. So it's not something new. Sites like HotFile, MegaUpload, Oron and others have been caught in the blacklist.

Those are different though, this has come about from court action from a third party. If Nzb's are facilitating copyright distribution, surely Vpn's are as well? Anyway Bt is for the technophobes and they have always been anti piracy, it will get interesting if the Isp's like Sky and Be broadband get pulled up into court.

They will be affected by it as well I think. CleanFeed is just the BT branded IWF blacklist from what I can see and other ISPs use WebMinder which again is just the IWF blacklist. So I think all ISPs that use the IWF will be blocking Newzbin from now on.

If they're successful in blocking it all, it's just gonna push it all "underground" to the likes of the TOR network anyway, which is fairly easy to set up and run anyway.

Yup, it'd be interesting to see how much money they spend to set up and run this list.

That's what confuses me about AcidHell's insistence on it being made a criminal act, the amount of money they'll need to invest to monitor people to make sure they're not doing it is just a ridiculous waste of money.

Any amount of money they "invest" in to this system is going to be passed on to us really.

Why does it confuse it?

And no I wouldn't want monitoring in the way you guys think. I'm not in for removing rights and spying on us.
