Well for the past month or two i have been waiting to get a new 2nd line put in the house and BT have gave me the run around anyway have my line in now have had for the past few weeks now but today i was due £62.50 back from them for all the ******* about but they have gave me £155 back

Now have moved over to TalkTalk for there £16.39 package plus broadband has anyone else and problems with them?

Have heard a few not so good storys about them :(

I dont do a lot of downloading just a few dvds/albums now and again but do use the 360 on live a lot.

Why on earth did you get Talk Talk? My friend had it and basicly started living at my house because he couldnt put up with his connection..

You could be lucky and not have any problems

I should think 40GB limit is more than enough for the 360 and music + dvds but i think they do Throttle speeds during peek times.

it's a bit late to be asking opinions when you've already signed up. :p

talktalk have a terrible reputation for connection/service......

Just found this on there website:

"We offer all new broadband customers a 30-day trial if you're not happy, you can cancel, quibble-free, within 30 days."

Hopefully you will be able to leave without a problem if your not happy, as i dout you will be.

I recommend Be* :D

Surprise surprise my order has been canceled

I had phoned up yestarday to make sure the order and everything was all ok and today i had done a check on there website to find nothing so made a quick call to them to find out my order had been canceled yestdarday

They are going to phone me back at 6pm today to put another order in, Anyone know anyone else to go with but MUST have phone and internet package as i dont want to be paying BT line rental

Thanks.

Expect to pay a packet to get put back on a BT line if they have LLU'd you

If he only has to pay £16.39 he is most deffinately being LLU'd. I worked in a call centre working on behalf of talktalk last summer, most laid back and entertaining job ever!

Well from what ive seen some of talktalk's customers go through, i would suggest keeping the line rental with BT. Talktalk's infrastructure is fairly pathetic and some customers have waited around 6 months for the service, some even longer.

Wouldnt stick with Bt if they paid me TBH

Need an ISP with line rental or will change to someone else, I have very limit to whitch ISP i can go with i have done a search and not many will cover my area for some weird reason

AOL is only other option

TalkTalk was going to give me a 6.8mb connection

My friend has never had any issues with TalkTalk.

I'm not Tesla's Friend... But I've never (touch wood) had any problems with my Talktalk...

My exchange has just been LLU'd and I've gone from 1.1mb to 3.2mb over night!!... and according to BT's website my line is only capable of 2.9mb

Plus I've a couple of friends who are also on Talktalk... none of them have had any problems!!.. except for the crappy Belkin routers they were supplied!!..

I've got a 3Com I bought from here and its never dropped its connection since we last had a power cut (about 4 months ago!!).

Next to no (decent) ISPs do combined ADSL and line rental packages - if you don't want to give BT any money, get cable.
There are a fair number of separate Wholesale Line Rental providers though.

according to BT's website my line is only capable of 2.9mb

That'll be because BT's estimate is based on ADSL (for now), whereas TalkTalk use ADSL2+ (which invariably gives you a couple of hundred kilobits a second, if not more). It's not the most your line can do, it's the most BTw think, based on planning records, your line can do with ADSL.

The problems generally start once you're on their LLU service - there's only so much you can screw up when half of the connection is through BT...

Going to give them a try should be live on the 20th :)

I have been trying other ISP's but everyone else is only going to give me half a meg or wont give me BB i'm in a non cable area aswell so that was out the window

TalkTalk are going to give me 6.8meg so should be more than happy for xbox live as its really only for that and some internet use :)

Will update and see how i get on
