BT Sport to get CL and EL

Good, ITV is the worst broadcaster for football ever. At least on BT sport they can show more coverage and air more shows about the CL/EL.

I miss ESPN classic. :(

Eurosport used to show classic CL matches in full. I remember watching the Liverpool and Milan final game. Don't see that anymore.

BT Sport are decent, I don't tend to listen to the commentary anyway and the halftime analysis is a definite no no so I think it's a good thing.

Looks like I'll be streaming CL football from 2015 then :)

Would rather watch some crazy middle eastern stream with non English commentary than put up with BT

Out of interest how come sky was forced to give up some of their premier league coverage as they were deemed to have an unfair monopoly but BT sport are now able to completely monopolise the coverage of european competition's in the UK?

This is ridiculous. I appreciate the idea behind breaking up sky's monopoly, to bring prices down, but they aren't competing with each other as they aren't showing the same matches. This just means that customers will be paying twice.

In regards to ESPN I think they were. They couldn't hold all six blocks of PL football and still can't. BT came in, took the EPSN block and then outbid sky for the other one. It is a 4/2 Split at the moment.

Sky hold a monopoly at the moment I believe, but they have to have some of the shows free to air, thus they deal with ITV. If you notice that deal shifted slightly last year (?) so that ITV only had 1 live game, whereas it used to have 2.

I guess I won't be watching much Champions League in future.

I wonder how many people who subscribe to Sky Sports also subscribe to BT? I'm sure it won't be that higher percentage. Not many people are going to go for a BT package over Sky are they?

Well I lost all the footy that BT are showing this year as I just cant keep paying more and more, its great that they make competition the issues stems that sky have built a pretty amazing product and now the consumer is being forced to pay two suppliers for the same thing, its like paying one supplier to boil a kettle and another to use the toaster its mad!

I hope they shift the logo/score to the top of the screen by then and we get a red button service so we get a choice of games. Maybe we'll get another channel. We get BT Sport as part of our broadband package so I'm not complaining about the change.

Funny really, the more anti-monopoly rules that get put into place, the more the consumer gets screwed ultimately due to having to subscribe to multiple services.

Sad news. So no more mid week footy on terrestrial tv (apart from the UEFA Cup). This is bad for football imo. Luckily we get BT Sport for free at the minute so at present not the end of the world but will have to upgrade to get it in HD. Very disappointed.

Well that truly sucks doesnt it, so from 2015 no more CL football on Sky:(...the other week when BT sport was free, i watched it and cringed absolutely cringed at how lolworthy the commentary team were. At least with Sky you have some decent commentary but this is bad news as im loathed to pay more for bt sport to watch CL football.

What makes me laugh is that Sky the robbers didnt want to pay anymore than what they bid...they make so much money that surely they could have stretched a bit more on the bid.

Not good, not good at all. Will have to re-assess my sky package in 2015.

Yes, quite odd BT can get them all, seem to be paying through the teeth considering while it's 350 matches, at least 250 of those English fans have exactly no interest in, another probably 50ish they would watch if there weren't english teams playing at the same time.

Seems to me Sky should have a pretty damn good idea from having had the rights for so long, that they aren't worth nearly that amount.

I don't actually care who has it, but if BT have it get the rid of that unholy abomination that is Michael Owen. I actually enjoy some Champions league football,

So what you're trying to say is the display a picture on your TV and it works
