BTCC 2015

good racing again. especially from the kids Sophia Floersch holding off Monger and co was pretty exciting. Granted the comms team got a little over excited.

They were putting her under a lot of pressure, any closer & it would have been yet another safety car lap :)

I always miss the races, is there anywhere I can watch them in full rather than just the rather crappy highlights? I don't even mind having to watch the adverts but nothing shows in itv player.

Due to the length of the show that's on Sunday it doesn't go onto itv player. then after that the only option is the highlights.
ITV have dropped the ball. when you look for even Motorsport UK its clearly a copy and paste job on the description. As they all say brands. the latest episode is Donnington and thats just the support races anyway. BTCC Youtube channel has 3 races packed into 8mins.

That took some digging to find that link. But you can see the whole race by the looks of it. At least the video is 30mins long at least for the 2nd btcc race and all the support races are listed also.

I've been watching where I can, but due to the length of the program I traditionally caught up online afterwards. Unfortunately ITV have been clamping down on the third party/illegal streams/replays so it's been more difficult this year. Really enjoyed Oulton Park though, Plato seems to really go well round there.

Surprised how good the Hondas are this year given a brand new car.

Fantastic last race at Brands today - right down to the wire and only 1 point in it. Absolutely ridiculous attacking drive by Shedden - deserved it IMO, despite Plato having had more wins.

It was a proper race, the most I've enjoyed a BTCC race in a long time, and it was clean too.

It was good to see the BTCC and the Clios go down to the wire. Slightly disappointed that from trackside it appeared that some of the drivers put up minimal resistance to Shedden in Race 3. I need to watch the TV coverage back though. Atmosphere was electric, one of my mates sneaked into the back of the Honda garage during race 3!

Congrats to Ash Sutton for winning the Clio Cup, he's matured a lot during the season. Also impressive that newcomer Ben Palmer got that banana shaped Clio into 5th in race 2. The shell was twisted after the accident on Friday and none of the wheels were in the right place!

No you're right. Early on there were at least a couple of drivers who let him through with minimal resistance. I think James Cole was one and the other who springs to mind was Andrew Jordan who actually indicated left and backed off along Pilgrims Drop.

Most of his moves were good though, and I guess people didn't want to be the one who ruined the championship. Still, he had to properly fight some too.

I think the right person won the title, I don't know what Plato was playing at when starting from the pit lane in some races - that must have cost him a few points. That said I genuinely don't like Plato so I am glad someone else won, even if I am not a massive Shedden fan.

Perusing the news sites this morning .... Plato (as usual) is being a little ungracious in defeat. Aron Smith didn't violate any team orders, and he's taking a pop at the Swindon engine. He had moan after Silverstone and his engine was dyno tested as "fine". Power Maxed and Eurotech were in the top five speed trap times with the same unit...

The pit lane start thing was a roll of the dice to get a good grid spot for race 2. Triple-8 did the same in Race 1 this weekend. Jordan and Goff were running at the back and towing each other around for Race 1, not even attempting to race anyone. I'd rather have the mixed-up grid for Race 2 that this gives, as Race 1 is usually a bit processional.

I don't mind Plato as a guy, but he (and he's not alone) has an awful habit of nudging people off line. Neal does the same, and others too, but Plato seems to do it far more often. Still, it's an improvement on Plato of old, when he simply rammed them out of the way.

That really needs to change for 2016. The rule itself I don't have a problem with, but it's horribly implemented. Someone (Skeeter?) raised it before the season and I responded by stating they'd only let people in the top 10-15 finishing positions set times or classified a certain distance behind the leader, maybe with an exception for those retiring from a genuine position... but no, anyone can do it at any point no matter where they are.

How can they have thought that was a good idea?!
