Budget 2012

3 local stations have already put the cost up 3p this week already before the budget and I expect another 1p first thing tomorrow morning.

I wonder where the breaking point is, it has to be soon surely? Given that when I passed my test 5 years ago it was about to hit £1 a litre and some groups of people were ready to go war about it.

3.6p/litre... That is quite a difference, but works out less than £2 difference for a full tank of about say 50litres average. Not too bad? But any increase for us is only bad.

How about forcing overpaid "athletes" who kick balls around a pitch to chip in and write off our debt? Not going to happen is it? :(

Back in 2000 the were widespread fuel protests however when it was tried again a few years ago not as many people were into it and the police were more responsive/forceful about it and the attempted blockades were dispersed.

I think they pay lots of tax, unlike the banking swine's who avoid it.

Whaaaaat? How would that even work?? They pay tax anyway?

Regarding the 'breaking point', there is no such thing, we'll just moan and put up with it.

As far as I can tell, lots of people on the motorways during commuting periods clearly don't care about how much fuel they use, given the way people drive, so I can't really see the cost of fuel being that big a problem for most people; an inconvenience at most.

If we tax the hell out of top footballers they'll simply up sticks and move elsewhere, you have to be careful about taxation for people who generate wealth. Yes footballers get paid a lot but top footballers fill up stadiums, merchandise and generate demand for TV rights. It has to be fair and proportional otherwise it'd just end up causing more harm than good.
