Budget 2500K First Time Build

Starting to get things how I want them. Still lots of tweaking to do, but I just got the lamps today and got the monitor elevated a little on a shelf. I got some cable management stuff to hide all those visible cables. I'll get another image up when I've got that done and also a little set of under desk drawers.

Please excuse the terrible wallpaper.

Nevermind, just ran it again, making sure the CPU was still overclocked at 4.3GHz (multiplier only). GPU at 950MHz (1233mV, memory clock 1100MHz), got Kombuster score of 4522 (81FPS).

Phill, I don't even want to know what yours gets. :D

I don't think I've ever ran the test mate!! But I can if you'd like?? Probably wont score as well as yours though!! Old tech mine is mate ;) Where did you get to download it from??

I love the setup, so clean and unfussy :)

My project leader has several old computers lying around and I went around all the keyboards to see if one was a mechanical one. There's this Viglen keyboard (which from what I can tell is a rebranded Acer unit) that had definite clicky keys. I've never used a mechanical keyboard before, but I think this one is. I did a little googling and it seems it has cherry blue switches I think. It looks like one of these:

I may buy another cheap keyboard and ask if I can swap it?

Need some case fans. A 140mm and at least 2 120mm fans. Thinking about the Nexus 120mm Real Silent Basic Cooling fans, and maybe the Fractal Design 140mm Silent Series fan?

Using only 1x120mm Antec Tricool fan on low is fairly quiet, but the temps are obviously higher. Never really overheated or anything, but the GPU got up to 70s and the fan kicks in and is annoying.

I ordered a Fractal Design 140mm fan for the top and a Nexus Basic Real Silent 120mm for either the front or side (by the GPU). I'll play around with configurations to see what cools the best but is still very quiet. I'm leaning towards more of a quiet PC which is why I think I'll probably get the Fractal Design R3 case.

I could have sent you a few 120mm fans :p

I'll try TRI SLI for you shortly :) It seems that there's a big difference between single card and SLI but not such a massive difference between SLI and TRI SLI from what little testing I've done...

I still have 3x120mm spaces to fill, I wouldn't say no to an offer! :p

The ones I got are supposed to be nice budget quiet fans for only about £6-7 a pop, which fits nicely into the theme of my build. :D

I don't buy anything less really. They move the highest amount of air and if you don't like it, just lower the speed down by swapping the wires over or by using a controller.. I think they are brilliant :)

I think my Sycthe Kraze 3000 fans are amazing but people would say they are completely overkill as they are 38mm thick.. Thing is they move 133cfm of air at max speed, yes they are noisy, but turn them down and they'll still move more air and then be quiet :) That's what I like most about it :)
