upgrades I'm planning at the moment..

SSD for system and programs
newer mother board
fx 8350

I also want to add a Blu-ray writer drive as ive sold my ps3 so no longer have a Blu-ray player.

Im half tempted to go crossfire as I can get my hands on an exact match for my GPU Im just wondering if I would see the benefits

Ive just upgraded my monitor to a Samsung SyncMaster 2333sw from an old dell monitor so the difference in my games is amazing.

Ive being playing watch dogs and just cause 2 and it plays them smoothly with no stutter so ive no complaints.

there is stuff I would like to upgrade through time but for my first gaming build im happy so far.

Ive bought a pre owned asus sabertooth r2.0 so that's on its way to me.
so hopefully once this arrives ill get both my 7950's in and get some good frame rates going..
Ive also swapped my cx750 back in. Ill get some more pictures once the new board arrives and is installed.

Ive also been wondering why my ram has been showing as running at 800mhz...
( corsair vengeance )
I've now discovered that 1600mhz ram shows as 800mhz within windows.
I googled it rather than asked thankfully..

so Ive been having a look in this new BIOS and I chosse the performance setting and its took my cpu from 3.9Ghz to 4.23Ghz and it all seems to be pretty stable..
Ive not really messed about with anything else bar setting my 2 Msi 7950's up and so far im really pleased with the difference in just a new board

ive just had prime95 running for around 30 minutes and all good..
yet with the old board I couldn't get it past 4.1Ghz and run prime for 10 minutes without dropping a core.

so after playing a few games ive noticed a fair drop in frame rates when running crossfire compared to just one 7950.

now I know I get a better score in valley but my thoughts is its in games where it counts. so ive pulled the second card out and tested both separate which they both seem to be giving me pretty constant results on a benchmark test in just cause 2 ( concrete jungle )
so plan is im selling one of the 7950's and using the proceeds towards an ssd drive and through time im going to go back to an nvidia card and try sli and see how I get on with that.

the 2 games ive been playing the now is watch dogs and just cause 2 both of which are running smoother with a single card.

doing a benchmark in just cause 2 ( concrete jungle ) in crossfire I couldn't get over 57FPS where as with a single card im getting 97FPS

Im wondering if the FX8350 will be a worthwhile upgrade.
Ive been offered an Asus formula z board and an FX8350 for a good price.
Im still in 2 minds as to keep the board ive got and just hang off and get the 8350 on its own though.

Will you consider running the cable bunch behind your mobo?
I have done this now. ive changed back to my modular PSU and have tidied up the cables. Ill get pictures tomorrow.

Ive also installed a Samsung 128Gb SSD SM841 as my system drive that I got dirt cheap

Ive just bought an fx8350 from nkata (Andy) so this should be with me mid week and ill hopefully have it in over the weekend. hoping to see a wee improvement over the 6350. Ive already got a buyer lined up for the 6350 so it will be costing me about £30 so all is good.
next up ill be looking at a liquid cooler for the cpu so looking for recommendations.

Ive also fitted an LG Blu ray rewriter that cost me £18 delivered.

so my fx 8350 arrived yesterday from nkata and I got time today to get it in.
so far ive not pushed it ive got it running sweet at 4.3 and my temps are aroound the same as they were with the 6350 running 4.4
next up on the upgrade list is a better cpu cooler as if I run prime my temps do get to high 60's but during gaming im seeing around 55c

so after my dads car boot sale bargain my CPU temps are nice and low. I done an intel burn test running at 4.4 and maxed out at 50c :D

will do a prime burn tomorrow and will remember to get a screen shot but im impressed with the H80i so far but boy can it get noisy!!

on quiet setting I would say my pc is near silent and still stays nice and cool but when I knock it of silent it certainly can be heard..
