Budget Case

the silverstone has room also for a 140mm fan.

so it's clearly still a step ahead of the antec300.

so I actually suspect it will win actually.

hoover craft sounds nice :D
You must be at the early "barbarian" stage of your overclocking career . . . many years ago I was of the same mind . . . the gauge of whether a computer was good or not was by how many Delta fans you could install and how much noise it made! :D

More noise = more manly :o
how much would a tri-cool 120mm fan cost?

Maybe £4.00-£5.00 if you know where to look . . . I think a couple of quiet blue LED 120mm at the front is best . . gentle blue breeze pullling in cool air through the front fan filters!

Colour is "subjective" . . don't dis me blue man!

actually im still saving up for a slow upgrade
ahhhh!!god damnit why does picking your hardware have to be so hard:mad:

having to spend money to improving the air flow of a case is silly, just buy a good one in the first place, that case plus one or two fans is over £50, might as well look for something in that price range instead.

haha i like those statement.

IMO the 300 is a good budget case when it was been sold for £35 but now its £47???

But then i try to prove you wrong i cant find a case with so many air vents. Apart from my lancool thts another £10 more

exactly, £47+ 1 or 2 fans at £5ish, puts it in range of better cases again.

well guys i can choose between the
antec 300
zalman z7
akasa xone
silverstone precision

i wont be buying any additional fans with the case but will probably add some more later on.
so even after all those proving which one is better i still cant decide :D

wigi board? flip a coin on it?

but seriously, I use to put the antec300 into peoples spec threads.

but that was when its price started with a 3, now its £3 of being £50.

yeah only few extra £s more like another £75 :D
i like it but dont have money for it so will have to stick with £40-£50 category

sorry to butt in on this lovely handbag fight, but im going with the antec on this one. My thoughts?

-The zalman is out of stock. nuff said.
-The akasa is both ugly, and reading the specs, very limited in cooling (the picture suggests side mounts for future fans, but this aint mentioned in the spec so there may not be enough clearance)
-The Silverstone and the antec both come with top and rear fans as standard, but the antec has much more space for extras. Now i dont know what kinda system you're plonking in there, but should you ever splash out on some high end kit, just add a couple of extra fans to the list, instead of a whole new high end case. For an extra 4 quid, i'd say that extra peace of mind is worth it. However, i would say the silverstone is the better looker.

Discuss. (30 marks)

from my pov i dont like the looks of the silverstone nor the akasas but it was their cable management that caught my eyes,on the other hand both the zalman and antec dont have cable management holes but both looks nice to me. and no high end kit gonna be put in it just something that can play games that i cant on the xbox 360,no crysis either.
