Bug crawling around inside screen

Got 5 in my my BenQ FP241W. I emailed BenQ earlier to see if there is anything they can do about it. Two are right near the middle & I can't help but be drawn to them. Its Really annoying. I've been looking at new monitors all night lol.
 
Happens to me every summer, just open up the monitor and get them out. They get stuck between the outer plastic flexi and the actual tft pannel. I repair monitors and tv's and i see this a LOT. Infact ive bought "faulty" monitors from ebay that i fix up and sell on. The sellers sell them cheap because they think there is dead pixels. Infact i got 3 in here right now but ill bet my bottom dollar ill take them out tomorrow morning and by night time theyre back :(
 
May I add, I run Ag Neovo glass fronted monitors and never had this happen. I also recommended said monitor to somone who lives next to a field of cows, and not problems with this either. I do get condensation in the screens over winter if not used for a while mind. Anyhow there looks another upside to paying double for these type of monitors!

This happened to me last week, BLOODY ANNOYING. My PC desk is by the window so one of them must have got in at the weekend when it was hot as there were a few crawling around. I tried to draw it to the edge of the screen but it died :( and now stuck there. BTW these do not go away if you squash them I don't think. I'm so annoyed at the one I have at the moment though... Might try the vibration thing.

This happened to me on my NEC 20WGX2 last summer and my laptop. I stupidly went to flick the one off my NEC and squished it, it's still there to this day. On my laptop it just died in there and I can't move it.

Then last week I noticed I had 3 of the buggers in my nice shiny new U2410!!! I got major bug rage then!! It looked like 2 were dead but i then noticed one slight twitch on one so I powered off, unplugged from the mains and left it. They were gone in the morning. Lucky escape!!

I feel your pain though!

Got a uv bug killer lamp situated behind my screens - gives the critters something else to go for, then they go with a pop and a spark... Gives a nice bluey glow behind the screen as well...

Did you explain to them that there was a bug inside your monitor?

WHAT TO DO;
For a live 'un; Turn off all lights, leave a bright light right next to the monitor to lure them out.

For a deceased critter inside the screen; get a small sucker and pull the front panel VERY GENTLY outwards, bug should fall down to the bottom.

All else fails, get out your screwdriver ;)

Small sucker?
 
The best way to prevent bugs getting inside a monitor is to spray a tissue with some "Rose Clear" or any decent gardening "Anti Bug" spray then wipe the moistened tissue round the exterior seal and vents of the monitor.

This should leave a thin coating of the bug killer preventing them from penetrating deeper.

The recent hot weather seems to have brought about a lot of creepy crawlies. Some
of which seem to have found their way behind the screen of my monitor & taken to
using it a graveyard. Five bugs in all have found their way in & I am having
trouble not looking at them when using the screen. My eyes unfortunately are just
drawn to them. I have read of other accounts of this phenomenon across a wide &
varied range of monitors & a lot of them were replaced by the manafacturers. I am
hoping this can be done for me by BenQ as I cannot use the monitor without being
frustrated as it stands. I have attached an (poor quality sorry) image that shows
a couple of the bugs that are now residing behind my once beautiful screen.

Please help me!
 
Were you under warranty, out of interest?

Heck, I'm going to try the same with the manufacturers of my two monitors (Samsung and LG). Both fairly old though, so not expecting much, but if you never try, you never know :D

Yeah, under warranty until October.
They don't make the monitor anymore & I've seen on other forums that because of this some people have just been refunded the amount they paid for the monitor. I'm not getting my hopes up for this but you never know!
 
got away clean so far, but doe anyone get the random infestations of tiny red spider mite things around may/june? I literally get hundereds of the dam things in my room sometimes. Im kinda amazed none of them got into the screen (LG w2053tq).

and i find bugspray and plastic to be a bad mix...
