Hi

I received my components yesterday, assembled them, but having trouble getting it to work.

When I turn on the computer, all the fans start going and I can hear the hard drive running etc, however it goes for about 10 seconds then I hear 1 long beep followed by two short. And I get no picture on my monitor.

My motherboard has inbuilt graphics so i've tried it without the graphics card and the same thing happens. I've also tried it without RAM.

I'm fairly sure I've plugged in everything correctly.

Only possible theory is that the PSU is not enough to power it all? Its a Coolermaster Igreen 500W

The new components are below

Any help appreciated :D

you need at least a 650... a 500 is bare minimum. but not sure if this would cause the problem, is the mobo definitely working alright ?

try taking it out of the case and seeing if it works on a static sheet on the table or somewhere flat.

it might be a loose wire when all connected inside the case

check the manual for the mobo for the answer to the beeps. it usually tells you what the problem is.

Thanks :)

I can't tell whether the motherboard is really working. It turns on, but onboard graphics won't work. Hence the beeps (in manual it says an error occured and it doesn't have video working to show it or something)

Just tried it with another PSU (480W) and it did the same

When the graphics card is unplugged a 480 or a 500 should easily be enough shouldnt it? Even if the CPU is already overclocked.

Check the memory are in the correct slots and the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power is plugged in.

You my need to a BIOS reset, but this will loose your overclock, but hopefully this board should be able to save a profile. Worst case you email Ocuk.

The PSU should be enough, but on the limit if you see what I mean, I run a overcloked i7 with crossfire 5850 and this pulled 430w at the mains full load.

Thanks

Just tried a bios reset (taking out CMOS battery while power is off is the same as using jumpers right?) and no luck

Looks like I'll be returning to OC

take battery out switch on switch off put battery back in, thats how i always reset it, so its ur gpu or mobo, can u try the gpu in different pc ? but then again if it happens with onboard gpu then its mobo 100%

Ok, i thought i'd double check, and I used the jumper. It now powers on and gets to POST, however its not using the graphics card (can't detect it even though the fans spinning etc)

Sorry this is probably getting confusing to read.

I just noticed that I only had one 6pin plugged into the graphics card (although I had them in before).

So now when I turn it on with both 6 pins in the graphics card it juts does nothing, fans come on but no beeps no nothing.
